Heads Down trophy not popping

I always seem to get either a kill assist or a suppression assist. This trophy is really bugging me and just can't seem to either get a full suppression or even track them.

You cause suppression by firing shots that pass very close to an enemy without actually hitting them. When you get Kill Assists, you must've hit them. With the Suppression Assists, you must be causing suppression but presumably a team-mate has got the kill before full suppression (i.e. before the Enemy Suppressed bonus).

 

MGs with large ammo capacities like the MG34, MG42 and Lewis gun are best for this (although not essential).

 

The Machine Gunner combat role for the Support class includes the Bullet Storm trait which enhances suppression.
