Dealing with Moth Mimics

When looking closely at item orbs, you'll see some of them have a different animation for the tail. Normally it will shimmy slightly. If the movement is more erratic, there is a Moth Mimic behind it waiting to chomp on you. DON'T pick it up! Well, unless...

 

You Soulflay the item and the Mimic dies. Now take it, along with the Vigor dropped by the monster. It will cost you a SF charge. If you're overly careful and SF a normal item then don't worry, there's no cost.

I've always found if the tail curls back on itself like a flicker, that's a mimic.
