How does Saving at the beginning chapters, then reloading older saves to get the miscellaneous trophies work?

As there is no chapter select, it's advised that you save in a new slot at the beginning of each chapter for the clean up. How does it work? Does the game remember what you were missing and what was already collected? For instance, just say I missed a few collectables/miscellaneous tasks only in the first 2 chapters and got everything else from chapter 3 and onwards,will simply reloading the first and second chapter and collecting what I missed count towards the overall tally even though I've reloaded a save state from way before the other collectables/miscellaneous tasks were collected/completed in the later chapters?

No, it will not count for collectibles and such. For the 36 ways to die, it will.

Thanks for the help. I guess I was just overthinking how it worked. Hopefully they'll patch in a chapter select 😀
