Lady Lilith
http://segabits.com/blog/2014/05/13/shining-resonance-a-new-shining-rpg-by-the-developers-of-wild-arms-series/ It seemed that SEGA isn’t done with the Shining ip, at least not for now. SEGA is still working and promoting their Shining fighting arcade game and now they revealed that they are working on a Shining RPG for the Playstation 3. The game is called ‘Shining Resonance‘ and is being developed by Media Vision (Wild Arms series, Shining Ark and Valkyria Chronicles III). Tony Taka is also being confirmed as returning for the game’s character designs. After the break we take a look at the first character announced, Kirika Towa Alma. Kirika Towa Alma “A girl who learns the ancient song magic.” Class: Song MaidenWeapon: UnknownMagic: Sacred Magic Kirika is an elf who learns the song of magic which allows her to freely change the power of nature. However, she is a better healer than a damage dealer. She may seem withdrawn at first, but she is generally known to be a kind person. Other information revealed included how playing music in the game will harmonize dragons, which will enable you to unleash spells and techniques. Also confirmed no transition between play fields and battles, so no pesky loading screen between. No release date has been announced. I've heard Wild Arms is pretty fantastic, so I might try this. Last Shining game I played was Shining Wisdom on Sega Saturn. I have Holy Ark, but have not played it yet.
MutinyTeddie
I think I will like this too. Wild Arms 5 for PS2 was a cool game. I've never played the Shining games but they look interesting.

lnicks
Hmm.. I think I might download some of the Shining games on the virtual console. Never got a chance to play them either. The concept looks pretty awesome though, and so does the artwork.

Lady Lilith
http://segabits.com/blog/2014/05/15/shining-resonances-main-protagonist-is-a-dragon-and-combat-will-be-real-time/ Famitsu Weekly announced Shining Resonance, a brand new entry to the Shining series. This one happens to be an RPG which will be released on the Playstation 3 and in this particular game, a dragon is a protagonist. Famitsu is fast to give us the first look at the game, including the first details on the story. The story for this title will be very fantasy driven like past games in the series. It takes place on an ancient continent with a god called “Alfheim”. Long ago dragons where plenty in the world, but for some reason the souls of the dragons where crystallized and spread throughout the world. Look, the perfect plot for a JRPG. After awhile they find out there still exist a dragon, its name is ‘Shining Dragon Irvan’ aka the main protagonist. Just like humans the imperial army, church forces and the ‘Dragon Slayers’ all begin their movements to capture/kill the scaled beast. But before could get their hands on the dragon, a maiden saves them from their grasps. The reason the dragon listened to the maiden who saved him? I guess in this world’s history there are ‘Dragon Performers’, a group of soldiers who gathers round the dragons. This dragon retains those memories of being treated by a ‘maiden’ when it was younger. So the story begins with the dragon and the maiden, the two characters that will start their journey. Check out the gallery: Sonia Blanche: Princess of Astoria, kingdom surrounded by seas. She leads an army to retrieve back their country. Shining Dragon Irvan: One of the last remaining dragons in the world. Various people and groups are after Irvan to acquire his rare powers. When you have a dragon in your party, you will be able to play instruments to control the dragon’s attacks. The battle system is real-time action. You will control one character as you fight. Shining Resonance is said to come out this winter in Japan, only on Playstation 3. No western release date has been announced. It'll be upsetting if it doesn't come West. At least make it import friendly.
Lady Lilith
http://gematsu.com/2014/06/first-look-human-hero-shining-resonance In Shining Resonance, Sega and Media Vision’s upcoming PlayStation 3 RPG, the hero is the Shining Dragon Irvan. But as detailed yesterday, Irvan has a human form in the shape of Yuuma Irvan. Famitsu’s latest online preview has the first screenshots. Yuuma, voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki, is a young man troubled by his own fate. Likely because he’s lived away from common customs, he tends to be passive and leaves the decision making to others. When he transforms, he becomes the legendary, but inexperienced, dragon—Shining Dragon Progress Body. Shining Resonance is due out for PlayStation 3 in Japan on December 11. I want this. At least give it English subtitles.
