Mr_Freaker
I don't know if this is just me or something actually happening. There used to be a lot of games that I could enjoy offline with a buddy on my couch. Nowadays it's all about online multiplayer. My girlfriend and I love Dead Space, but now we are forced to not play together as we "only" have one PS3 to play Dead Space 3. Same goes for a lot of other games. The same will go for future games likes AC Unity. I love the franchise, but I'm certain that it will only be online cooperative. Does anyone knows why we, as gamers, are "forced" to play more and more with strangers on a long distance instead of friends in the same room? Saltyie
Because most couch co-op players from 10 years ago have made the leap to online gaming, and also because I imagine it takes up crucial dev time making a split screen component (It's probably harder than just cutting the screen in half ) , so devs decide not to. That said if you're willing to look outside AAA games, alot of indies have couch co-op, and it does seem to be making a comeback in that genre. Heres a few decent couch co-op games Guacamelee Diablo 3 Army of Two Borderlands Catherine Dragon's Crown Fear 3 Hunted the Demon's Forge LittlebigPlanet If you're looking for a local co-op game, use Co-optimus' search engine http://www.co-optimus.com/games.php
