Mouse wheel opening 2 of the same tab on my browser?

Whenever I browse the net (I use Google Chrome as my browser), I always click the mouse wheel over a link to open up a new tab, yet lately whenever I do, it almost always opens 2 of the same tab, despite me only pressing it once. Is this because of my mouse, or is it the browser? I don't know anyone else who has had this problem though, so I'm completely puzzled.

Sounds like a nasty virus. You should unplug your computer and light it on fire to prevent the virus from spreading to all your other electronics.

It appears to be my browser, Internet Explorer doesn't have the same problem, but it runs slower than Chrome, so it looks like I'll need to find a new browser if I can't find a solution.

Make a back up of your favorites and just restore all setting to default. See if that works.

If not try to delete all browser files manually, delete all register entries manually (if you are on Win. I have no idea about Mac) and install it again

you shouldnt try new browser if you like this one just because one stupid isuue. There is always fix to that

Thank you, this helped completely, I was unsure where to look at first, but found it eventually. I'll leave this open in case other people have the same issue.
