Anyone else ever get this PSN error?

So i tried to access my friends list and i got this message. Anyone know a fix or reason behind it?

"Could not connect to the server. It has been accessed too frequently by you, so access is being restricted. Please try again later. (NS-16116-5)"

At a glance I would guess to much random information going to the server for instance mass deleting of friend list etc? or a huge friend list that does not want to load

I've had this before on the Vita when I've left the page open on the friend screen and the Vita goes into rest mode, once it refreshes I get that error.  I also had it when I had the PS4, PS3 and Vita logged into my account simultaneously.

 

I've seen it happen to my husband on the PS4 when he was deleting a lot of people from his friend list.

This was my first thought as well.

 

I've never personally had the problem myself though.

If you are using a Vita, it may be a problem related to firmware upgrade.

Thanks guys, i just turned on flight mode and i stopped getting the error.
