Trophy stacking

Just a quick question,

if i want to trophy stack a game i downloaded in the ps store 

i have to use a vpn to be able to play it on my standard accont ?

or a game i downloaded in the chinese ps store i have to use a vpn 

to play it if its locked ? thanks for help

PlayStation games are region free.

 

The only way it would be "locked" is if the account used to purchase the game was not signed in to the PlayStation when you're trying to play it on another account.

You will need an account based in the region of the store from which you want to download the game - in your example, create a PSNID for the Chinese PSN store on your PS3/PS4. Use that account to buy the game, download it to your console, then install it.

 

Log out, and switch to your main PSN account and the digital download will appear in your game list, and  you can play it.

 

No VPN needed.

Most games don't need one. Any that are online only and restricted to a certain region would be more likely. I can't remember them off the top of my head and am too lazy to find the exact names, but most of the freetoplay games from the Japan and Hong Kong store fit this. Edited February 1, 2016 by kuuhaku

Games can have region lock, but there's literally like 1-3 games or so in the entire library that has region lock. There is however some digital games that have online subscription that is tied to your account and you can only play the region you're from.
