I'm surprised people are still attempting this.  Not much more I can contribute beyond my post on the first page.  That said, if it is at all helpful, here's a video of me clearing stage 3-3 and the final boss without a Sheriff's badge/minigun.  It's definitely possible, but you need good placement and to watch out for those stray bullets.  If I look like I'm overly confident, it's because at the time I didn't know that I was still vulnerable to bullets after popping tombstone.  I made a point to dodge them just cause I felt like it...and thank God I did.?

I can certainly vouch for how ridiculous the RNG can be. I still try this from time to time even though I already have the platinum, just to see how far I can get in the second round.

 

One game about 3 days ago, I kid you not I had 45 coins for 2 bullet powerups before the first boss. Only saw between 28-30 coins the rest of the game.
