UAVscOttNLINE
Beating Journey of the Prairie King without dying looks absolutely impossible, I can get every trophy in this game but can't see myself ever being able to get this one, really hope there is some dirty strat available as it's ridiculous
DrakeHellsing
Is it rather difficult the game itself? I've not given it a go, as I may leave that till a late game thing to do.

Maybe I'm just bad at this mini game but, I can see it being that frustraiting trophy that keeps me away from the platinum, I'm always that 1 away from Portal 2 platinum as well, grrr
TheSleepyBeauty
It was bad enough beating the game never mind trying to beat it without dying. But it is possible. Gotta put in a lot of practice and hard work!
Mlle_bella
Agreed, I don't see me getting this. I tried doing it 4 or 5 times and it proved to be too frustrating for me. Edited December 30, 2016 by Mlle_bella

Brink-2-Chaos
wouldn't be nearly as bad if you get a consistent coin drop rate every game some games i have like 4 by the first vendor other time i have 50 By level 3 then always tank on the boss FINALLY got it some Strats i used If you don't get at least 6-7 coins on the first screen just restart Try to save sheriff badge until your really in a pickle Messed up my final run and had to use it on the final screen before fector but got lucky as Fectors pattern didnt change much try to let groups of enemies get a little bit In the screen before you kill them so you dont risk getting a group spawn on top of you Or coins becoming unreachable My final run i just upgraded both my gun and ammo Twice No boots was a little coin restrained Edited January 15, 2017 by Brink-2-Chaos
Popular Post ObsiEez
I'm reviving this post after about 4 months because I'm so pissed at this trophy. I made it to world 3-2 with no deaths & then 0 fucking power-ups would drop, I got to a tiny bit of the time left but got overwhelmed & it just kept happening until I lost all my lives. I've never been pissed off at getting a trophy in my life, not even getting the platinum for Bloodbourne was this frustrating. This trophy or even the minigame itself shouldn't have even existed in Stardew Valley because it's so removed from the game. I'm still really confused why he thought putting a rage inducing twin stick shooter in a laid back & chill farming sim game was a good idea, because it was fucking terrible. I will not be able to platinum one of my favorite games of 2016 just because of this retarded trophy that should have never existed
lronHulk
I would say keep trying and you will eventually get lucky, it took me a couple hours to get it and I failed on 3-3 maybe 3 times before i got good Powerups. The earlier level are the hardest in my opinion because you go near entrances to get the coins you need to upgrade your stuff... when you get 2 gun 2 ammo you're good to go and just need to survive... good luck, you can do it
liquidsol
It took me a long time to get this. Level 2-2 and 2-3 were definitely the hardest for me. Unfortunately, 3-1, 3-2 and 3-3 are all luck based. Skill is thrown out the window. Edited May 24, 2017 by liquidsol
Popular Post Danaxus82
The trophy's doable, but can be soul-destroying. There's only one way to get this trophy, and that's to have the rng stars align in one perfect run. To conquer Fector, you need: Skill. A little bit of dexterity to manoeuver through enemies, presence of mind to stay away from dangerous areas, identify good map position to force enemies through funnels, and care to make sure you kill enemies in areas that are accessible and safe, so you can collect loot. You also need to carefully weigh the risks/rewards of using powerups. Coin luck. As others have said, no money = doomed. You need a minimum of 2 guns / 1 ammo, or 1 gun / 2 ammo to even stand a chance in World 3. Ideally you want 2 of each, but that will almost never happen. You are swarmed by bullet-sponges and no amount of skill will save you (unless you get a series of Sheriff Star drops, in which case ahahahahaha - I hate you!). Boot are real nice, but not essential. Power-Up luck. You'll be forced to use power-ups. When you do, pray to whatever God you believe in, that another decent power-up drops before the next swarm. Also pray you have a machine-gun / Sheriff Star for the final boss. If not, you'll need to be practiced at his phases and bullet patterns, or you will die horribly. Sadly, you won't get many chances to practice, because getting to him will be very rare, unless you're happy to continue your run after dying somewhere. Enemy luck. Sometimes enemies will appear in trickles, other times they'll swamp the screen, one endless wave after another. If/when this happens is complete chance (except for World 3-3, which is essentially a non-stop swarm of red devils and mummies). Your main battle in the game will be against the controls themselves. Movement is fine, but the shooting...oh God the shooting! Sadly you can never be 100% certain the bullet will go in the direction you're aiming. You could hold up-left to shoot diagonally, and end up shooting either left, up-left, or up. Doesn't matter if you use the analog stick or the face buttons...the controls are weird and unwieldy. Thankfully this only tends to occur when switching shooting directions (which is all the time), and only to the first bullet or two that go out. This does give you a little predictability, but you need to factor this vulnerability into how you play, and never charge an enemy expecting to kill it before you arrive. Sadly, this problem means you will find yourself cornered a lot. As you're trying to shoot yourself out of a swarm, you will inevitably need to shoot some mobs to create a path - miss those shots and it's all over. The only thing you can do is pray the controls work in crucial moments, and also be prepared to use your powerups prematurely. It sucks using them especially when unnecessary, but better that than dead. Tips: Take lots of risks with coins in World 1. If you die, no big deal. In World 2 don't go to the sides of the screen for coins unless you're desperate for cash. A random butterfly can spawn from anywhere along the periphery and take you out with no chance of reacting. This goes double for World 3. In World 3 forget coins exist - your goal is to clear the screen asap, nothing else matters. You ONLY grab coins if they're 100% safe and the screen is relatively empty of enemies. Don't use the screen nuke. Any enemy killed by this will 100% not drop any loot. This is for extreme emergencies only. World 3 is an exception - nuke them to hell with no remorse. Power-Up priorities: Sheriff Star -> Wheel -> Machine Gun -> Shotgun -> others. Sheriff star power-up lasts longer than the others, which is the reason I prioritise it over Wheel. In World 3-3 however, the order is: Sheriff ->Machine Gun -> Tombstone or Coffee...the other stuff is useless on the boss. Not sure if smoke bomb stops the last boss' bullet-hell - I never tried, and now I have the trophy, I have no intention of going back to find out. Careful with tombstone - doesn't make you immune to bullets, but the speed-boost will help you dodge them. Try not to grab power-ups the moment you see them, unless you're empty. If you're holding an item and see a wheel appear, leave it there until you are either swarmed, or it's about to expire. This will add a precious few seconds to your boost. Personal Note: All that said, I don't think this trophy is worth the cost to your soul. It clashes with the spirit of the game and can sour your experience. Maybe the trophy is like greedy Joja corporate life - let go of your trophy needs and enjoy the peaceful life instead. This game should not be played or remembered bitterly...maybe this once, sit back and enjoy something without lusting for that shiny plat, and you'll be happier for it. You will die a lot trying to get this trophy - you will die from rng, bad controls, momentary lapses in concentration, bad decision-making, and because calculated risks didn't pan out. You will get frustrated beyond measure, no matter how skilled a gamer, proficient at twin-stick shooters, or how old-school you are. Ask yourself if it's worth it. This trophy could take 3 days or 3 weeks, and very little of that is dependent upon your own skill. ShadowSkill
this took me 3 days to get it, the game crashed a few times when the mouse came out to help... you must lvl up the gun and ammo to lvl1 before world 2 otherwise just die and restart. you must update the gun to lvl2 before world 3, if you have extra coins lvl up the boot first before lvl2 ammo. world 3 is all based on luck, if you get more drops you gonna make it.
ShadowStar83x
I'd do this one as one of my last trophies so it doesn't ruin my experience with the game.
WavesOfActivity
Anyone have thoughts on whether this would be more difficult on Vita due to the controls and screen size, or is it irrelevant?

CookeKeyes
Yeah...I’ve never played this game, but now I definitely know I won’t because of this trophy. Sucks when developers do stuff like this. Sorry, I know this comment doesn’t help. Edited July 7, 2018 by PoisonJam7
iamthedotcom
With the upcoming multiplayer release it may be possible soon to do this with a friend! I feel pretty confidant that this will happen because they have already allowed co-op for this game. I don't want to give spoilers, but there is a date you can go on where you play this game with a friend. So the mechanics are there already. I have already earned the trophy, but if possible to do on multiplayer, feel free to reach out to me and I will try to help.
Asvinia
Started trying to do this yesterday and it's so fucking frustrating. It's more RNG based than skill and it's so unresponsive. Coins are entirely random, monster spawn is random, item spawn is random. Sometimes monsters will come in small groups, sometimes they'll swarm in groups of 6 from 3 sides. I only managed to complete a normal run because I lucked out in 3-3 and got 3 sheriff stars spawn one after the other. That red imp spawn is insane. I've died so many times just from apparently not aiming the correct way. Trying to fire upwards but it's still going diagonal. I've died because apparently I got too close to an enemy but other times it won't kill me for getting closer than before. It just seems random on whether it decides you died. I could get behind a trophy to just complete the game, but to complete it without dying? Really? Fuck you man.
GooeyChew
Is there some way to cheese this? I feel like there has to be a way. Either making the game lag or drop the frame rate or glitch it or somehow. This is extremely annoying. Not only do I need the perfect RNG run on spawns, coins and power ups but I also need great RNG on it now crashing deep into the levels, my game crashed twice on the ending of 3-2. I saw you go the trophy so congrats. As for all the RNG talk it's a mix, sometimes RNG will outright slap you and nothing can be done but there's times where you will blame RNG but it wasn't really RNG. Gl to those still going for this!!!
Mitsuru Kirijo
One thing I've noticed while going for it: Lucky Lunch seems to make a significant impact. I started using Lucky Lunch and I've had amazing RNG and much more consistency. Before I was getting past stage 1-1 with 7 coins like 1/5 the time, after I'm getting past stage 1-1 with 9 coins on average. My last good run I had ammo 2 upgrade before the first boss. It's just a coincidence. People have gone through the code and they've found no link between ingame luck and the arcade game. Or it could just be you getting better at the game. Bug then, because there's no reason if it had no effect for me to be averaging significantly more coins on the first stage with a decently large sample size. I also made it to Fectors 3x prior but didn’t have any power up and he killed me with about 50-30% every time. I messaged a handful of recent achievers to see if they had any of their own tips that maybe the prominent guides werent too specific on. A lot told me not to give up and I said to myself, man if I can get to Fectors atleast once that means I can do it again. So I got to him a 4th time but died. Got to him a 5th and finally had a machine gun power up and the rest is history. Edited February 17, 2019 by GooeyChew
