In order to input them, follow the steps below. 1. Empty your energy gauge completely. You will see bubbles over your character if done right. 2. You now have a limited amount of time to input the cheat, CODE ENABLER. Hold all the shoulder buttons (L1+R1+L2+R2) and while holding them, press this set of inputs to enable CODE ENABLER: D-Pad Down, D-Pad Left, Circle, D-Pad Down. You should hear a sound if done correctly (if your energy gauge fills back up and you didn't hear a confirmation sound, empty your gauge again and repeat). 3. Wait eight seconds or slightly more (don't wait too long or the cheat above will reset). You're free to dodge enemy fire in the meantime. 4. Now, input this set of button inputs while holding all of the shoulder buttons again (L1+R1+L2+R2): Triangle, D-Pad Down, Square, D-Pad Up. If done correctly, you should see the text, CODES ENABLED in the top left corner of your screen. 5. You can now input all of the cheats below. Make sure while inputting any cheat below, you are holding all of the shoulder buttons (L1+R1+L2+R2) while inputting them. If you die while having cheats active, or if any CPU dies, they will all reset and you will need to do the entire process over again. This cheat system was later used in Twisted Metal: Black. Button Inputs Cheat Notes D-Pad Down, D-Pad Left, Circle, D-Pad Down CODE ENABLER You must activate this cheat first before enabling the cheat, CODES ENABLED. No text will be displayed, only a sound will be heard. Triangle, D-Pad Down, Square, D-Pad Up CODES ENABLED Enables the use of cheats. In order for this cheat to work, you must first wait eight seconds or more before activating (after enabling the cheat above). Taking too long will result in the cheat above to be reset. X, X, D-Pad Up, D-Pad Down KILLER ATTACKS One hit kills enemies. D-Pad Right, D-Pad Left, D-Pad Down, D-Pad Up INVINCIBLE Grants unlimited health. D-Pad Down, D-Pad Down, X, Triangle ENERGY Grants unlimited energy. D-Pad Up, Triangle, D-Pad Right, Square GOD MODE Grants unlimited health and energy. Square, Circle, D-Pad Up, X RAPID FIRE Hold Square to constantly fire. X, X, Square, Circle SUPER HOMING Appears to approve the auto lock on range when shooting or throwing a object. Triangle, Circle, X, Square TIMER ENABLE This cheat needs to be activated first in order to activate the cheat MEGA UNLOCK CODE. No text will be displayed, only a sound will be heard. D-Pad Down, D-Pad Down, Triangle, Square MEGA UNLOCK CODE Unlocks everything in the game. You first need a special attack available in order for this to work. Then enter the cheat TIMER ENABLE. Wait at least eight seconds or more after activating TIMER ENABLE then input this cheat. Triangle, Square, X, Circle DISABLE ALL CODES Disables all cheats. So if you are wondering what the sound is like. Killing 200 enemies in Endurance on Hard will net you nearly 1,000,000 points. Also the NA version has the Twisted Metal costume unlocked.
