Lady Lilith
http://www.gamespot.com/news/sega-teases-upcoming-surprise-announcement-for-yakuza-series-6412740 Sega Japan has teased that it will be making a "surprise announcement" possibly tied to the Yakuza series on August 18, according to a report byGematsu (via NeoGAF). The news, which will coincide with the reveal of the Yakuza Character General Election results, will take place at the Alta Vision screen located outside the Shinjuku train station east entrance at 5pm local time. No details have been given, leading to speculation from series devotees that the publisher may be set to announce a new Ryu ga Gotoku game (Yakuza 6) for either the PlayStation 3, upcoming PlayStation 4, or PS Vita. Earlier this year, Sega announced its plans to port the first and second Yakuza games to Nintendo's Wii U, for release in Japan. There are currently no announced plans to localise Ryu ga Gotoku 5: Yume, Kanaeshi Mono (Yakuza 5) for Western audiences. The most recent game in the franchise to be released outside of the territory was 2012'sYakuza: Dead Souls, which received a lukewarm reception. I'll take what I can get at this point. Although August 18 is a good time as any to announce localizations of HD or 5. Come on, Sega! Edited August 9, 2013 by Sonic

Wdjat Prinny Doods
Ive been interested in playing the Yakuza games, are they good?
ShadowFan
There pretty sweet. I'd recommed starting with the PS2 (Yakuza 1 and 2) and then PS3 ones, however there are recap videos in the ps3 games s you don't have to neccesarily by them. miki-iki
I second what ShadowYakuza said...though I will warn you the voice acting for Yakuza 1 is horrible. You'll appreciate the subtitles in the later titles. It's more fitting anyway.

Lady Lilith
Probably a Yakuza spin off considering the general election thing. And we have a winner! SEGA Japan have just announced another Yakuza title, this one seems to be a spin-off titled Ryu Ga Gotoku (Yakuza in the West) Ishin. The only information we have is the logo and the image below, which reminds me of Yakuza: Kenzan, a spin-off on Playstation 3 that never made it over. What platform is this being developed for? That we don’t know either, but since Nagoshi has stated before that Yakuza 5 was going to be his Playstation 3 game, don’t be shocked that its SEGA’s first Playstation 4 title. Guesses on Neo-GAF is that Ryu will be portraying the life of Sakamoto Ryōma.
