I'm pretty sure Sony still charge developers for patches so they're probably hoping their next patch is the last console one they have to do. I'm on a Stranded Deep discord so if I hear I'll keep you (and others reading this) posted. If you'd like you can always cloud save before finishing the game, then wrapping it up so you only have the crafting trophy left to do once the patch is out.
