Popular Post Kazduin
I wanted to use my experience to clarify a lot of false information on the internet about this platinum as well as give some tips! -Cheats do not lock you at 99% or stop you from getting credit from certain things however I would advise only using the health, armor, weapons, and lower wanted level cheats to avoid any potential bugs. -Certain cheats like the pedestrian riot cheat are game breaking and irreversible if you save so don’t use it. -Using the money cheat lowers your criminal rating. I can’t confirm or not if using it too many times permanently locks your rating but it’s best to not take the chance. -The tank cheat is okay but I would advise only using it once in a great while as the tanks take forever to despawn unless destroyed. If you spawn too many tanks into the game world it can corrupt your save file or cause the game to bug out but it would need to be an extreme amount like six or eight tanks. -There are two instances where you can lock yourself out of missions required for 100%. Finish all of Joey and Luigis missions in Portland before finishing Salvitore’s missions. Similarly, finish all of Asuka and Kenji’s missions in Staunton before doing the mission “Waka-Gashira Wipeout” for Donald Love -You don’t have to worry about the infamous Purple Nines glitch unless you beat D-Ices missions and then start a new game on the same save slot. -I read a guide that said the emergency vehicle import/export crane won’t accept a rhino tank you got through the cheat code. This is completely false and the crane accepted the tank with no problems on my play through. I’m not certain if there is a bug that won’t accept the tank or not but it worked fine for me. -I read in a guide you have to do the vigilante mission level 20 on all three islands for it to count and that simply isn’t true. Once you get the trophy for killing 20 criminals in a row, all you have to do is kill 20 criminals on each island for it to count for 100% completion. -For the Import/Export missions if you go into the display settings and change the wide screen setting to off traffic density goes up immensely giving you more chances to find the vehicle you need -Also for the import/export side mission if you need a Mr.Whoopee Ice Cream Truck try the fire truck or vigilante missions to get the game to spawn pedestrians driving non-mission specific ice cream trucks you can steal. I think however it’s easiest get it during the “I Scream, You Scream” mission. Just shoot the guys instead of blowing up the ice cream truck. -The Securicar is insanely rare but extremely easy to get if you grab it during Donald Love’s missions like “Escort”. Like the Ice Cream van you will find pedestrians driving them. -You can find the bus and flatbeds by the stadium. The BF Injection needed for the Shoreside Vale export list only spawns at Hepburn Heights where you pick up Misty from at the start of the game. Only after you complete the mission “Sianora Salvitore” I hope this helps anyone looking to go for the platinum! Popular Post AJ_Radio
Make sure you do the side missions (Firetruck, Paramedic and Vigilante) on the first island before you complete the story missions there. If you try to go back and do them you will find that the Mafia will be a lot more dangerous as they hold shotguns, which seem to automatically destroy the vehicles you're driving. It was so difficult I was forced to start a new playthrough from scratch in order to do those side missions safely. You don't have to worry about the Taxi too much, as you can get 100 fares on any island and that will still count towards 100 percent completion.

JWill_55
A tip I can add.. in Portland , I made the mistake of doing the final rampage there after all the Portland missions (in fact I was up to the 3rd island), and was being shot gunned to death instantaneously. So I spawned in a rhino and ran them all over. They weren't going to shotgun that and destroy me.. rampage 6: kill 20 mafia in 120 seconds. You
Hey these are some great tips. If I could think of one off the top of my head. I found it a great idea to get as many hidden packages as you can whenever you reach a new area. Otherwise while you're trying to pick up stuff you'll often suddenly start getting into random fights/shot at gangsters getting in your way. AJ_Radio
Some of those hidden packages were annoying to get. The game mechanics definitely didn't age well. A lot of clunky movement, enemies can kill you in a couple quick seconds if you're not careful. We have definitely been spoiled by modern gaming.
