How many people would be needed and how long could it take for the boost?

The servers are virtually dead at this point so boosting will be essential. Also you need 3 - 6 players for certain trophies but the Guide lists a possible exploit to get around the 6 player requirement: https://psnprofiles.com/guide/9894-laser-league-trophy-guide

You don't need anyone to get the plat, but it does make the process a lot quicker, and makes the ability trophies easier. That said, I have played the game completely solo, and only have the prestige trophy left, and the rank 5 mastery (which I am on the last stage of with the Thief class).

 

It does take a while, mostly because matchmaking takes a couple of mins each time, but I have just been using the Australia server and being matched against the AI and the occasional player doing the same thing to get my trophies lol. However, when the online service goes down, even the AI option will go, because it needs to be connected to the network, like I've had network error disconnects, even with 5 AI in the game.

 

But if you start now, you would definitely get it before the server shutdown, even just doing it solo.
