Not a 100% reboot since it acknowledges all that happens in previous games. Probably more a revival than a reboot. If you want to experience all the story from the series, I will suggest starting with Hitman 2: Silent Assassin (heck, even with Hitman: Codename 47 if you don't mind the outdated controls). Otherwise you can just start will the Hitman trilogy (Hitman 2016, H2, and H3).
