Is there a way of playing ps5 games using a PS4 controller?

I’ve just sent my controller to Sony so they can fix it and was wondering if there is a way of playing ps5 games (such as hell let loose) using a PS4 controller.

Nope, only PS4 games on the PS5, to play actual PS5 games you need a PS5 controller.

I haven't tried it myself, but what if you used the PS4's Remote Play ability to remote into your PS5?  Technically, you should be able to use a PS4 controller to play a PS5 game by going through the PS4, right?

Yeah I believe the only way to do this is with remote play. (Should work for all supported devices like iOS/Android phones, Windows PCs, Macs, and PS4s)

Yes I agree it's stupid.

If you can't get remote play working well enough, your only option is to buy another controller (or just stop playing until you get a replacement from Sony)

You can always use remote play with your controller connected to a phone/laptop while still using your tv or monitor for the playstation to minimize the lag.

I just wish Sony would let us use DS4 on next gen games though, so far only one game absolutely needs the triggers by default (Returnal) and even then there's a setting to disable that.
