Time Challenges for Dragon Quest Builders

Is there any preferred way to do these in a single run? I've noticed that the days only last like 10 minutes or so. I've had to make saves and reload a few times in the instance of making mistakes/dying or getting lost.

First chapter doesn’t start time initially, so you can gather tons of resources before it does. Second chapter is definitely the hardest. I had to reload a few times due to mistakes. Gives you almost zero room for error. The third and fourth give you more than enough as long as you don’t screw around too much.
