Now, I haven't purchased a console in a few years, so I do not know if they still offer such, but looking at one of my receipts for one of my consoles, in fine type there is this: "To purchase an extended Warranty from SONY, you must contact this number (number given) within 72 hours of purchase. Please have receipt number, store number and your console serial number available when calling" Most other stores do also offer an extended warranty, and as noted by Azkos, each one offers something different. From what I have read, however, it seems as if both WalMart and Target offer the best additional warranties, and GameStop offers the worse.
