Economy of Means Trophy (Guide)

I just platted and this was my notes for the economy of means trophy. Comfortably got the trophy despite kinda messing up the crane.

Also serves as an action list to complete the game (but obviously ignores all the other achievements)

 

Touches per chapter

 

Prologue - 9

Total: 75 plus crane section leaving 70-75 free for crane section

 

Prologue (9 touches)

 

Toothbrush > Teeth
Open furnace door
Wood > Furnace
Duster > Shell
Window latch
Small chest of draws > Model
Model wall > Model
Head of puppet > Puppet
Puppet > Rocking chair

 

Chapter 1 (11 touches)

 

Poker > Window boards
Window latch
Roof on model
Anchor inside model > Cabinet door
Cabinet door
Locked door
Livesaver in model > Crab
Captains hat in cabinet > Table
Captains hat on table in model > Crab
Shell > Onto table in model

Chapter 2 (15 touches)
 

First wall lock

Tiny pipe-part on table > Entrance door of model

Small fish in can > Feed to small tuna by the model
Remove fishbone in tuna's mouth

Chapter 3 (31 touches PLUS Crane)
 

Drawer under bed
Boat part 1 > Desk
Door to the jetty
Boat part 2 > Desk
Left cupboard under desk
Battery > Crane power point
Boat part 3 under upstairs painting > Desk

(You don't have to open doors to the crane panel, you can teleport around outside instead, if you open the doors add 1-2 touches - i got the trophy with opening the doors)

Recommend backing up your save file at this point, you want to do the crane section in <50 touches ideally to allow for errors/extra touches elsewhere

Crane L/R, F/R, U/D
Grab bridge section > Desk
Crane L/R, F/R, U/D

Built ship > Go upstairs and just throw it into the water, you can use the crane in which case add those touches
Open battery compartment on boat
Battery > Boat battery compartment
(Teleport into the bridge, don't open the door)
Ignition
Lower winch lever
Raise winch lever
Rope climb - 16 to 18 touches

 

Chapter 4 (8 touches)
 

Pick up match with medium fisherman and pass to outside
Pickup match (larger character) and strike against box
- Light Lamp 1 to 3
Put match on ledge and pick up with medium fisherman
- Light lamp 1 to 3
Put match on ledge and pick up with small fisherman
- Light centre lamp
Point lamp 1 to centre
Point lamp 2 to centre
Point lamp 3 to centre
Move lens into place pointing out through open window

 

Epilogue (1 touch)

I believe you can redo any of the chapters through chapter select though and it keeps your score so if you mess up 3 you can always go back to it

Thanks a lot ! Although I used another walkthrough for this trophy, your notes made me FINALLY (sort of) understand how the Chapter 4 puzzle works, by juggling the match between the different fishermen.

Almost most stupid trophy in vr no way knowing how many times you grabbed something and with ones count. I did the crane in less then 30 moves and still didn’t get the trophy at the end. Have to replay it again!

 

can I replay I chapter select or do I have to restart the complete game?

its not as crap as the Rick and Morty throphies.

Each chapter saves the least amount you did for that chapter ... If you think one or 2 chapters has too many do those! It will count the least each play

Plus on the crane part when you grab teh crane make sure you dont let go of it! That was my problem

think I messed up in the final chapter the rope pull up part messed up and wasn’t reacting. So I tried the other side. Maybe it counted all the times I grabbed the rope.. also the game crashed..

 

ill try to replay that chapter. Does it pop after you finish the chapter or do I have to finish the game?

What ever chapter you are on it will pop! Say you are on chapter 2 and you just need that one it will pop after the chapter is done!

thanks it was probably chapter 3 where I messed up pulling myself up at the lighthouse. I finally got it
