Finally started working for me. Last night while playing WWZ I got booted from game, party, and PSN by the new Terms and Conditions required. Accepted those, logged back in, started game, and the level 5 gun unlocked on load screen. Everything else appears to be working now as others have said.

I think it's free only when you actually bought the Aftermath DLC (when you can actually switch to fps mode)   Not just the free Aftermath update.
