Popular Post SuchRemorse
I would just like to say this game is TOOOOOOO good!!! I'm loving this game! It's probably the most simple and in depth base building game I have ever played! Highly addictive! I keep thinking about this game even when I'm not playing. I keep trying to brainstorm and think of new and interesting traps I can come up with. I really hope this game makes it and has a big player base. I can't wait to see what new stuff they add. This is Just a few Tips for new players! I know some people already know this stuff, but some people don't. This is for them! 1. Find the Tombs and ATTACK THEM! They contain valuable resources That will make the game must easier for you. If you don't know what the tombs are (Some people don't and they walk right by them via replay) They are the Glowing T Shaped Light blocks emitting sparks and a skeleton in them. Not sure if I described that well but just look out for them. The small maps have 1. The medium maps have 2. The large maps have 3. They can be found by searching the bases and listening to a chugging sound. Almost sounds like an older type washing machine. Some people lead a clear path to them. Other players set their best traps around them. And some.... Block them off completely! 2. DON'T BLOCK YOUR TOMBS! I think people believe that if the player gets them that THEY lose resources. YOU DON'T! They are there as an added bonus for the player. You don't lose anything by raiders taking them. So don't block them! It's a douche move! Instead try and find ways to incorporate them to your outpost build! 3. Prestige your outposts! This will give you more blocks to build with and create an ever BETTER death trap of your own! The more kills you get the more resources you get! 4. WATCH YOUR REPLAYS!!!! This will let you see what traps work and which don't. It will also give you ideas for new traps. Example. I have a base with multiple paths. It seems most players take 1 particular path more than others. Not the way I intended for them to go but now I set traps in that area and it actually made my outpost better. 5. DEATH Box maps! This is a touchy topic. Some people love them some people hate them. For new players that don't know, a death box is literally just that. A room where people put ALL available traps and enemies in such a small space with no clear path. The results are massive deaths if you keep trying. Some people say they are cheap no skills quick builds, others praise the creativity and enjoy the challenge of trying to finish them. Either way just beware of them. 6. You get resources from players your base kills. To collect resources from players your base killed you need to go into the outpost builder section and visit the outpost. You can simply load up the base and leave. You will automatically collect all dropped resources. So many people think they have to search the base and manually pick up everything that was dropped. You don't have to do that. 7. HAVE FUN!!!!!!! And be creative! Don't let the deaths discourage you! You don't lose anything when you die! You keep all experience points and anything you pick up (at the time of this writing) So just have fun! It's a learning experience and it might even give you more ideas for your own outpost! Happy Hunting! Edit : Feel free to add your own tips here in the comments! borntodave
A great tip I took a while to discover was with placement. If you have the space and you're trying to add a certain block/triangle/trap into/onto something and it's not letting you, try hit the L1 button to remove any paint or props. If there's any of these on the corresponding blocks near where you want to put this new one, it won't work. Delete said paint/props and you should be able to fit your desired block/shape in. Ahhhhh that's true too! You can not put anything on top of an area that you have added a decal to, unless you remove them first... If I remember correctly though, I think it says something like "cannot place, Item already exists in corresponding spot" or something like that. Dawnfreak
I am having fun with the game. I only have 1 outpost right now , prestige 8 with about 240 kills on 70 raid attempts . Watching replays has been a blast honestly. Love watching people try to figure out the outpost only to make 1 wrong move and get deleted.
bobthecrazydog
Great list. I’d add to it always try and buy outposts with 9000 life. The 4500 ones can run out too quickly before you get enough points to prestige. And buy a small one if you are going for max prestige level. Finally, don’t bother with weapon upgrades aside from perhaps the extra bullet early on…the phoenix hardware is very useful for really tough end rooms…invest in trap mods more than guards. megslushboy
Also, L3 and R3 allow you to lean. I'm pretty sure the tutorial mentions this, but I completely forgot about it for a long while.
TommyG-LT
Another tip: You can equip defensive weapon on the secondary slot, doesn't need to change the main gun for it. It's highly effective when speedrunning bases, even brutal ones.
