Popular Post Flukedit
So having come back to this after a few months to finish off the final trophy, `Greater than the Gods`, I thought I might just provide my final thoughts on it. So first thing which seems to be a common consensus is that the start of the game ie Chapter 1, is the worst part of the game, which I would agree with. You are extremely limited in items, spells and you don't have any Einherjar yet, so its all on your own ability to get through it. There is also a terrible battle on the broken bridge at the start of chapter 2, which is frustrating, but luckily you can get to it without any encounters by climbing the tower and jumping over the trigger. Chapter 6 is also a terrible one. There's a building in the middle you have to climb up with the bulb on top. This was awful. The final wave is particularly bad. It's possible that it could be easier as I was only using the main sword to get through it due to where the checkpoint is in relation to this, and in general really, any upgrades that get made revert back, so I only attempted this a couple of times before just getting frustrated. There is also a 4 wave (i think) right before the fire naglfar boss which takes ages, and has a few rooms before it even, which was a bit annoying. Once you get to Chapter 8, you are pretty much home free, you can skip a large number of encounters in this chapter by hugging the water edges. The main battle here is the berserker boss, but by this point you should have an idea of how to play so it shouldn't be too bad. Every encounter can be skipped in Chapter 9, which is surprising. I have made a video of this which can be followed if curious. Some other tips: * You can farm health and art elixirs on the first subquest, Mother's Ring. There's only one required encounter in the middle, and by the time you get to it, you shouldn't havent any issues. Just make sure to explore a around the first time through to find all the chests. * You can use your healing spell as a secondary way to avoid damage as it provides invulnerability frames upon use, so you can use this if stuck in the middle of a group of enemies, or stuck in the middle of a combo etc, to heal up a bit and avoid some damage. I just kept the level 1 spell in my list, so I could spam it if necessary instead of using the higher level ones * Every use of an einherjar increases their stats once you complete the level, up to a certain point, so the more you use them, the more damage they can actually do * You can just run through some encounters, so if you notice that there is no black mist surrounding the arena, you can probably just run away, though you may end up getting caught in an arena further up with the additional enemies who have chased you, so maybe play around around with suicide runs from checkpoints to work out what you can do What is kind of annoying about this game, is that at timed it just feels horrible to play, the checkpoints are at weird spot, you get piled on out of nowhere and get insta-killed, however when things go well, it actually feels really good to play, so that dynamic is just frustrating because of how lopsided the experience is. Anyways, good luck if you plan on attempting this difficulty, I won't necessarily say you'll need it, as you may be better than me at this game, but it won't be overly fun regardless.

Unfortunately not, however you can speedrun the game by only focussing on the 9 main missions and skip all encounters on the last two missions. On hard mode this is doable in around 4h since you don't need any upgrades at all on this difficulty. A Valkyrie speedrun would be around 6-8h, depending on how many upgrades you need in the beginning. I clocked out at 16h for my valkyrie run since I also did my proficiency farming on this mode and actively did most side-quests.

Like, if I beat the game on Valkyrie difficulty, it will pop both Valkyrie and Hard difficulty trophies.
