Game crashing on PS5

Recommended Posts

Probably had my most egregious crash on PS5 yet with this game. Doing a hunt down with the ridiculous Hot Rod at full speed and it actually switched my console off.

It wouldn't switch back on initially and when it did (using the console power button) it then had to do a database rebuild. Kind of took me off playing what is a great game for thr time being for fear of it happening again. Anyone else had this issue?

It sounds like this is one of those games that just doesn't like running on a PS5 so has to be played on a PS4 :(.

It's happened the same to me with Modern Warfare 2019?

Anything is possible but I personally think it is more deep rooted than a simple compatibility issue, since someone else in that thread had the exact same issue, yet other accounts on the same console had no problems playing it, which says to me it's a bug in the game's networking and account code.

Crashed for me as well, about 2-3 times now. The first time it corrupted my save 🫠

I uninstalled it after that first big crash, it was like it bricked the console.

Shame, awesome game but not risking that again. Others on Reddit have reported the very same hard crash happening to them.

What would it take for EA/Criterion to patch (yep, I know it's an old game, but it is still being sold on PSN).

May I ask where you had the game installed? I've heard of other PS4 games having issues on PS5 seemingly because they were being loaded from the faster internal storage rather than a connected external HDD, which would have a slower speed more akin to the PS4's speed. Whether or not it was the built-in storage or an NVMe drive, I'm not sure.

I haven't had any issues with my copy just yet. I'm playing one of the versions of this game on my PS5, currently.

I had it installed on the internal SSD. I do have an old Seagate HDD that I was using for Xbox One games on the Series which I was considering formatting and using for PS4 games on PS5, might be worth a try to see if that helps.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems more and more PS4 games are crashing on PS5? I've read that many people still have issues playing those emulated PS2 on PS4 games on PS5.

Any crashes I have experienced on PS5 so far have been from PS4 games. To be fair it's not that bad (3 games including Burnout). What stands out with Burnout is the severity. The likes of Batman Arkham Knight and Days Gone have crashed to the dashboard (with the error message report screen).

Weird huh.... It work perfectly for me. After getting the platinum and playing for 30 hours the game did not crash a single time. It might have to do with the online servers though.
