Personally, I am super psyched for a lot of the indies that were shown off. 

 

And No Man's Sky... I'm making the Homer-Simpson-looking-at-donuts-noise right now...

The thing about no-mans sky is.... what is it? Interactive art? It certainly looks pretty, but we still have no idea what you do, or what makes it a game.

Well, I gather from things and mentions on the interwebs that are too plentiful to look up now that it's about exploration primarily. Find new planets to gather resources, use those to upgrade your ship, this allows you to get closer to the centre of the galaxy where there is more of an enemy presence, until eventually you reach the galactic centre and "finish" the game.

 

I don't know if there is combat when you're outside of the ship, but there looks to be space-ship combat at least. I'd assume you must have some means of at least protecting yourself from aggressive local fauna when you land on a new planet and get out to explore.

 

That's my understanding of what it will be "about" anyway.
