Ringwraith10
If I want to get better damage with the combat shotgun, which perk do I choose in the perk chart? I don't know if it counts as an automatic weapon or a rifle... or neither?
damon8r351
It's a Non-automatic Rifle according to the strategy guide.
Lonemankane
well if it is the kind of shotgun that is auto firing then a normal one shot ata time I would do the riflemen perk unless you want to have a auto firing shotgun pick the commando perk

TriggerTortoise
If you give the combat shotgun an automatic receiver mod, it will be considered an automatic rifle and will be affected by the Commando perk. If it has any other receiver mod, it will be considered a non-automatic rifle (ie Rifleman perk). I have not given it that mod and I won't (since my fallback is a sniper rifle).
TriggerTortoise
Yeah, it's a little strange at first. But quite a lot of guns and the perks that apply to them are affected by the mods applied, namely switching between auto and non-auto receivers, and pistol and rifle stocks.
