Pokemon Showdown Thread

For those who aren't aware, Pokemon Showdown is an online, browser-based Pokemon battling simulator. tied in closely with Smogon, the unofficial go-to community for competitive Pokemon battling (specifically their usage-based tiers). It's not a fangame or anything, as it only lets you battle using mons and movesets that are legally obtainable in the official games.

 

So does anybody else on this site play on any regular basis? I've been having decent success in the Sun & Moon RU alpha using this team:

I might have to check it out. I've been looking for a decent pokemon game to screw around with.

 

I used to play another browser based pokemon game called tppcrpg.net It's been around, and regularly updated for like 16 or 17 years now. I played it for the better part of a decade and loved it. It has leveling, catching, evolving, trading, everything you could want in a browser based pokemon game lol. Definitely worth checking out.

I sometimes go on showdown and played random battle. I should try

to make a team or just copy/paste one.

 

 

@Xylobe why wish/ synthesis florges? wish/protect is better for its cleric role

 

also I would try include some form of priority, you don't want to get sweeped by a scarf/setup mon

I like running Synthesis over Protect for more immediate recovery, and it heals more than Wish after Torkoal sets up sun. For priority I don't think anything on the team gets it except for Piloswine learning Ice Shard, and none of its moves are really replaceable. Choice Scarf Hoopa reaches 393 speed, which is enough to outspeed almost everything (base 130s running max speed can outspeed it by 1 point)
