It'll be boring if you're an experienced trophy hunter, sorry I'm making sure to cater for all the new hunters that utilise my channel first :)

Nice video but people seem to go buy completion rate, ultra rares, speed gaming among other things, but what about trophies per day is this a stat that no one cares about?

I wish I had more time to research the exact details when it comes to those specifics. Thanks for clearing that up a little :)

Oh haha :P Be interesting have this cleared up fully, don't really have any way of testing it myself.

Just to go a bit further, probably the best way of demonstrating the completion statistic is to look at your profile directly. Now it is a beast of a profile, congratulations, luckily you're a completionist so it makes it a bit easier to calculate. At the time of writing this here are your stats:

94.83% completion

744 unearned trophies

347 games played, 316 completed

Stats Page - 363,210 total points earned, 244 platinums.

We only need to focus on the games with unearned trophies, so 347 minus 316 = 31 games with unearned trophies. I've listed each of those games, unearned points and unearned trophies (in brackets). Here they are:

01. LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham - 1545 (68)

02. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor - Game of the Year Edition - 1560 (72)

03. MXGP2 - 1185 (40)

04. Driveclub VR - 1155 (24)

05. Far Cry 4 - 1305 (52)

06. Livelock - 1110 (44)

07. Horizon Zero Dawn - 1065 (45)

08. Batman - 960 (25)

09. Final Fantasy XV - 945 (32)

10. Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair - 900 (28)

11. Rainbow Moon - 765 (23)

12. Star Wars Battlefront - 990 (23)

13. BioShock Infinite - 930 (35)

14. Minecraft - 870 (30)

15. Batman: Arkham Knight - 915 (39)

16. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - 810 (36)

17. Minecraft: Story Mode - 585 (18)

18. F1 2016 - 540 (12)

19. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - 480 (7)

20. Tom Clancy's The Division - 360 (15)

21. Fallout 4 - 330 (20)

22. Firewatch - 75 (5)

23. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - 195 (12)

24. Dying Light - 180 (10)

25. Goat Simulator - 195 (13)

26. No Man's Sky - 90 (5)

27. Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 - 60 (3)

28. Rocket League - 90 (1)

29. The Playroom VR - 45 (3)

30. Overwatch: Origins Edition - 30 (2)

31. LEGO The Hobbit - 195 (2)

Total unearned points = 20,460, unearned trophies = 744 (as above). 17 of those games have unearned platinums

With this information you can earn a potential 383,670 points (363,210 + 20,460)

That being said if platinums were part of the completion statistics your completion would be (363,210 / 383,670) * 100 = 94.66%

Your completion is 94.83%

Now lets remove the platinums

You have 244 platinums so your current readjusted points are 363,210 - (244 * 180) = 319,290

Potential points readjusted are 383,670 - (261 * 180) = 336,690 (note the 261 platinums are the 244 already earned plus 17 unearned)

That gives us (319,290 / 336,690) * 100 = 94.83%

Also as Han_The_Dragon noted, platinums were included in error for a brief period after the site update, but corrected shortly afterwards

Completionist here, but I don't save any money cause I buy games even if I know I'll start them months later lol

Haha I'm the same, jump on sales then by the time I get round to playing the game it's half the price I paid for it lol

Ye man, I was gutted when I realised that I had added some trophies from a blank account that had been earned a while before I set up my PSN account and hadn't factored in the effect it would have on my trophies per day. Went from 13 down to 8 :( lol. This video was just focused on one aspect top explain it to new PS gamers, and to prepare for the description of blank accounts next time :)

Thats some good work bro :) And a nice way of proving it with evidence. Cheers for putting that time in! :)

I buy games that I know I won't even play? I think I'm a game hoarder, some of the crap I come home with sends my partner nuts, the other day I got fight night round 3, resicestence 1 and prince of Persia, 2 of the games don't even have a trophy list? I have 82 boxed PS3 games and I've only played 20+ of them. As for sales well let's not even go there.

Haha I'm the same. I have dozens of the most recent releases many of which would take 100 hours+ all sat in their wrapping still lol. I needs Bernards Watch :D

Another good video but unfortunately your calculations are incorrect for the trophy completion.

Platinum points are not included in the completion percentage on PSN Profiles so in your example you mentioned

All trophies earned on a platinum game = 1200 points

10 out of 15 trophies on a 100% game earned = 150 points

Total completion = 1350 / 1500 = 90%

The actual figures would be:

All trophies earned on a platinum game = 1020 (1200 points - 180)

10 out of 15 trophies on a 100% game earned = 150 points

Total completion = 1170 / 1320 = 88.64%

Just as an addition 0% games are not included in the statistic.

I also believe that the percentage shown is never rounded up, so the percentage 88,64% would show 88% on your profile in stead of 89%

The 88.64% figure is the figure that would be shown as your completion on PSN Profiles and that is rounded to two decimal places.

If you were referring to the percentage shown for each individual game then you are spot on. It's never rounded up. If that was the case and you had one bronze trophy left on Drive Club the following would be the completion percentage (4725 / 4740) * 100 = 99.68% - rounded up would say 100%, instead it's 99%.

It works the same way as your level progress, that is never rounded up. On Saturday night my level progress was Level 19 - 27%. The actual figure was 27.94%

Hahaha, I know exactly how you feel man. Got lot's of VITA & PS3 games lying around to be played/completed.

As for the video. Well, tbh nothing new, but it's always nice to be informative to those (viewers)who are new to this "completionist" trend :)

Ye as a youtuber I get dozens, maybe hundreds of PSN messages and comments from new trophy hunters thanking me, I think it's growing into a more main stream hobby, so I'm covering some simple episodes to make sure they're not left behind later.

Hehe, keep up the great work. I also have a YouTube channel dedicated to rhythm (ac) games and daily requested gameplays. For ex.

Ye so I've experienced, good luck with yours too bro :)

When I watched that video of yours I also watched a bunch of others on your channel. Really good content and it's getting me back into gaming (haven't done any in months). Thanks for letting us know about your video here, I wouldn't have found your channel otherwise and I've subbed so I don't miss anything new from you.
