Popular Post rosst-canada
I earned the Platinum for The Last of Us: Remastered recently and was hoping to stir up some good conversation about it. It seems like a base of people still play this game regularly, so I had a feeling some of you might also feel like talking about one of the PS3's best games. I'm sure we'll get into spoilers plenty, so be warned. Years later I still find the game holds up pretty well. The story and characters are just as powerful and consistent years on, and after several playthroughs. If I had to pick two favourite parts it would be the Winter chapter(s) and the time you spend with the two brothers in Pittsburgh. The former has such an awesome and terrifying conclusion, whilst the other runs a whole spectrum of emotions from when you meet them to their tragic end. Games have definitely come a way since 2013 though. I thought that the game has somewhat of a last-gen feel to it compared to titles released recently, but perhaps that's because of how long I've enjoyed this title. During the platinum grind I was a little let down by the chapter select; perhaps I did something wrong, but I found whenever you went BACK to an earlier chapter you would have to keep playing to go back to a later chapter. I have a feeling that was something to do with getting the game to run on the PS3, but who knows. Also, the fact the game doesn't track your conversation in the way Uncharted 4 does was rather irritating. These are pretty small complaints though. As far as the trophies, I enjoyed the effort Naughty Dog demands of the player to 100% the base trophy list. As someone who loves getting trophies done to podcasts or shows running on my laptop, there being tonnes of collectibles, conversations, and secrets totally works for me. If I could outline two complaints it would be these: 1. The trophy list doesn't reward casual play much - this was something the guys on PS I Love You would often talk about, but if you play the game casually (Normal mode, not getting ALL the items), I imagine you would end the game with something like 17% of the list, which can be a bit of a letdown for some. I wanted the platinum so it wasn't a big deal to me. 2. Multiplayer trophies - I'm of the mind multiplayer trophies are best when they ask you to do little more than try out online play. Two whole factions playthroughs though? That you can completely botch if you just aren't skilled enough at? I'm down with playing factions because it's so damn entertaining but that's a hefty accomplishment. At least it gives you the opportunity to get the extra map silver trophies, like I did. Those are some of my thoughts, I would love to hear what some of you think! This is my first forum post, and I thought TLOU was a worthy game to dedicate that honour to :D
Squirlruler
I only played the PS4 remaster. I thought it was a great game and held up when I played. I completely agree with the MP grind trophies that were for such a good SP game. By the end of the MP grind though, I found I was decent enough to really start enjoying it, so it wasn't completely tedious for me. I ended up having to do at least 1 complete replay because the artifact trophies glitched for me and I could not get them to work (1 survivor run, blind, 1 collectable run on easiest for all the collectables, that glitched, then did the complete replay). I was really frustrated when I finished my third playthrough and that trophy didn't pop. I also LOVED Ellie's jokes.
ddracarys
First of all, welcome to the PSNProfiles forum! As somebody who has earned the Platinum trophy for The Last of Us about six times across multiple accounts, and has finished the game twice that much, The Last of Us definitely starts to feel more like a chore than a game. Don’t get me wrong, I thought it was a great game, but its weaker points become more noticeable the fourth or fifth time through. I’ve finished Resident Evil 4 228 times and it still feels like a new game to me. The Last of Us though? After playing the game several times, I found more enjoyment in Factions, which is what I’m actually looking forward to the most, when I end up tackling the trophies again on this account. In my opinion, The Last of Us is a great experience, but its flaws become clearer the more you play. Flaws like lack of replayability and sluggish movement, to name a couple. I’d personally give The Last of Us a 7/10.
HaserPL
I highly recommend to watch this great video made by one of my fav youtubers. The segment about The Last Of Us is about hour-ish long but it can show you all the ups and downs of this great game.
