Is the shark gone?

So basically I’ve spent over an hour wandering the ocean ( dark blue part) and I’ve never seen the shark , is there a problem with him spawning?

I did this trophy a couple of days ago, I just flew a helicopter directly north until I couldn’t see any white bits on the mini map and then jumped out. As soon as I dived I saw the shark spawned. I then tried to let it kill me on the surface but he wasn’t interested. After diving again he killed me right away. Hope this helps.

Just keep going into an open sea until your boat just stops working. Shark guaranteed.

Try just going back and forth on a jet ski near the pier, this is how I got it to spawn. As soon as the red dot appears on the map jump off and swim to it

Assuming this is already known, but the sharks now only spawn in story, so they won't appear in online.
