Popular Post cris3f
My tips on this game. These apply to Eldritch difficulty, the last, although a few levels will already be a nuisance on the middle difficulty. First and truly most important thing. Go to settings, Controls, "Enable Weapon Lock". Without this you'll go insane, as it's usual for a junk weapon to spawn under your feet ruining all the upgrades you were collecting and choosing, and of course making you lose the run. I only discovered this while I was half going through Eldritch difficulty ??? Unfortunately you can't lock abilities so if you have a good one and switch for a bad one tough luck. And yes they will spawn under your feet too (yay...). Upgrades: - Max out Conductor when possible, this will give additional charges for teleport which are essential - Buy as many Regulator upgrades as possible, this is very important as several times the upgrades you get in the lottery are awful, and at least you can rotate them to a new lottery - Graphene Alloy isn't bad, as more armor for the mech is useful - Quantum condenser isn't bad either, more charges to abilities - Dimensional Teleport is a bad idea as it does no real damage and if enemies are aggroed you'll land in the middle of them to use it, Eccentric is more RNG (you already have insane amounts, don't need more), Tesla Glove is more RNG and I usually got crap so probably not worthy it, Eccentric is more RNG (what else...) - I just upgraded once Aether Distiller to try to get the Epic perk trophy. Some Epic perks are not problem solvers (Theseus Paradox) and the Epic weapon is a piece of junk Weapons: Only weapons that will really kill anything on Eldritch difficulty are the Gauss Shotgun, the Repeater Shotgun and the Gauss Assault Rifle. The others will only tickle the harder enemies. The GAR is the best weapon of the game but needs the right perks. Which one of the is better depends on the perks you get: - "Extra Barrel" and "Ricochet" go Gauss Assault Rifle - "Hasty Reloader" and "Faster Shooting" go either Shotgun you get; on second thought the Repeater Shotgun is much better than the Gaussian if you don't have any Extra Barrel Perks: Reaper Bullets, Bullet Sharpening, Radiator and Lightning Cloud can be useful. "Faster Teleport" of course. "Special Mastery" too. "Regeneration" is essential, as even if it's minimal it's your only sure way to regain some health, as I got several hard and long levels that did not have a single health drop, and I even think it was the power up that I had less spawns overall. If necessary just walk around with aggroed enemies without killing any (so that worse won't spawn) to regain health. "More Health" is crap if you're already down on health as it gives you 30% more max health, doesn't increase what you have. Extra Speed is usually a really bad idea. Your normal speed is good enough and you want your enemies to aggro behind you, with extra speed they will spread even more and make all levels more difficult, and you'll surely die if you don't have exceptional weapons with the right perks. Exceptions are the 2 last levels. On the penultimate it's essential as the Shoggot's bullets travel faster than you, and usually there's a tons of them, so without it it's very hard to survive. The last level is large enough that speed will not make the spreading of enemies a nuisance. As I said above buy Regulator upgrades you won't regret it. More than half the times I got 2 crappy perks on the RNG perk menu and it's awful looking at 2 useless perks and having to choose the less worst. Abilities: Most are useful, except Nova, Repulse and Explosive Barrel (there will usually be enemies in the line of sight to them, so you won't be able to use them anyway) which are weak. Don't underestimate the 10tons weight, it's totally awesome for bosses (I won the penultimate level in Eldritch in a snap with it). Be careful with the electrical based abilities in levels with Fire Vampires, they will explode and you'll be hurt by the fragments. Don't be naive, the only strategy available is running away while shooting back. Worst enemies are the Elite Dagons (only spawn on Eldritch). These guys take forever to kill and they teleport to you, without good weapons you're dead. Large mobs of Shoggoths in the penultimate level are hell too, map is too small. Don't underestimate the power of the Mech explosion. As its life is ending aggro all possible enemies on top of you, its explosion will kill most of them. Just be prepared to teleport if there are Elite Dagons around as they won't die, unless they were already reasonably damaged. Every level is a complete RNG fuck fest in absolutely everything, weapons, perks, abilities, kind of enemies, spawn locations of enemies, it's extremely annoying. There's a few levels that will be hell to solve in Eldritch but all will be down to luck, without the right weapons, perks and abilities some are simply not even remotely fair and you won't be able to solve them without that magic spark. 2 of the worst I made them first try, I got lucky with weapons and perks, 2 others took me almost 100 tries, always got crappy everything and elite Dagons. I wouldn't even bother to check my perks until I had collected at least 5 or used my first mech, as it was too depressing to check 1 by 1 and just get junk. Be careful where you summon the perks menu, several times I died as a tentacle animation would kill me when coming out of that option and for some reason they're very speedy when you're coming out of that menu. All these issues did ruin my enjoyment of the game. Stupid is that the developers talk about some of these on Steam and can't see the obvious, that there's too much RNG in the game. That is plainly dumb. All trophies will pop finishing the game, except "Epic Awesome" which is, amazingly, luck dependent ?. But you'll probably have it anyway before finishing the game. There's a thread in this forum on where to farm crystals. Good luck, it's what you mostly need. Edited March 25, 2021 by cris3f
ThatMuttGuy
Great tips that I used to get the coveted platinum. One thing I did notice though, when you die and repeat a level, the game tends to give you better stuff. Like, I'd notice Repeater Shotguns at level 1 and epic perks/regeneration popping up in the first few levelups. But yeah, Eldritch difficulty is basically all down to RNG lol. PrimalxFear
i will try the weapon lock. i only have like 7 or 8 maps to go for the plat. its a grind but i like it. the feeling is kind of like a rogue-lite, with upgrades you keep but you start from lvl 1 each time.
whassupbun
Just got the platinum last night. The achievement rate is around 50%, so I think most players will get the plat without issue, but some levels on the Eldritch Plane can definitely be a challenge, so here are some of my takeaways from my playthrough: I maxed out Conductor and it definitely helped get me out of some hairy situations, but I would argue it's not necessary to max it out, as I rarely find myself using up all the charges. Also, on Eldritch Plane, the enemies will nearly fill up the entire map, so no matter where you dash, they will still surround you. It's more important to kill enemies quickly to allow more breathing room for yourself. Even with maxed out Conductor, I still got stuck on some levels. I had way more success after upgrading the skill that increases your Epic perk chance. They are extremely useful, and if you get the death ray, it's pretty much game over for the enemies. So I wouldn't spend too long farming crystals to max out Conductor, maybe put some crystals in the Epic perk chance upgrade, I didn't max it out, only upgraded about half, and still got an Epic perk almost every level. This and Conductor are the only skills I upgraded, didn't touch anything else. The perk that heals 25% of your health whenever you get a multi-kill, grab it. Use weapons with a high rate of fire (uzi is my go-to, but shotguns and AR are nice too), with perks to increase the fire rate, extra projectile, and 1/10 of your bullets become fire ammo, you will be getting multi-kill fairly often, which means infinite health for you. This definitely helped me out the most on Eldritch Plane. When using the mech, try luring groups of enemies to form a straight line, then use the mech dash (L1 when in your mech) to run them over, you'll get more multi-kills this way, so faster XP and better supplies.
cobaltTangerine
Great tips! And definitely agree with Weapon Lock. That should be a default setting for the game!
