Why are the trophies japanese?

I came here to find out what some of the hidden trophies are but there in Japanese.

It's common for some games. They just haven't been translated here.

JP trophies also exist in Atelier Ayesha or Ragnarok Odyssey.

I still don't know the exact cause of this, but the root of the issue should be with the developers. As previously mentioned, games such as New Little King's Story and the previous BlazBlue also appear as Japanese on every website (including the official PlayStation site), even though you have the NA copy and it shows up in English on your PlayStation.

I just got the Platinum, so I have all of the Trophies English name in my PS3 Log.

If you planned to count how many Trophies there are here's a Summery of the Trophy log:

There are A Total of 57 Trophies(including DLC), with 37 of them(including the 6 DLC Trophies) Displayed as "Secret Trophies"...The Game's Trophy List includes 1 Platinum, 3 Gold, 5 Silver, and 48 Bronze Trophies in Total.

 

P.S.; A Cool thing about the Chrono Phantasma's Trophy Set(If not many have figured it out yet), Is that its Trophy Images are pieces that when viewed in Original Order show Cool Poster Like Images(Just Like Gravity Rush's DLC Trophy Set Images). For example is Terumi's & Kokonoe's DLCs trophy images, or the Azrael when you put the 2 Trophy images from "Level Elf & Don't Hate The Player" pieces together. As well as the Character Specific Trophy Images, also giving you an Arcade Ending Credits feel again.

I think it has something to do with your system language when your trophy list is built for the first time. If it's not one of the supported languages (English/Japanese mostly), it will default back to the game's default language, which in case of BlazBlue is Japanese.

i.e. my system language is Dutch, and some games have support for that and show trophies with Dutch descriptions (like Tomb Raider and the Sly games). The games that don't have Dutch translated trophies will default back to the game's default language, which is usually English, but in some cases it's Japanese.

 

I'm not 100% sure on this though, I just remember reading about it somewhere and it seems to apply for me.

Something similar just happened with my "Draw Slasher" trophies. One day recently after syncing my trophies, I noticed that the title and all the trophies for that game were in Japanese.
