Vitallani
I'm interested in getting this game and would like to play without a guide on my first playthrough. Inevitably, I will likely miss some collectibles/trophies along the way. My question is, does each episode have individual chapters that you can select to play individually once completed for the first time? In games like Life is Strange, you can play a chapter in 'collectible' mode, so none of your original choices are affects. Can I do this with The Expanse, or would I have to play the whole episode again if I miss something. Thanks.
HuntingFever
If this is anything like previous Telltale games, it should have both episode and chapter select. Edited September 27, 2023 by HuntingFever Update.
juergenBVB
There is no chapter select. For the collectible trophies you have to replay a whole episode. You can do this on a different save slot though, so your original choices of your first playthrough can be continued seperately. Some misc trophies even require some action in a previous episode so if you clean up keep an eye on them.
Floorkiller74
Several TT games haven't had chapter select withing the episodes. That Batman games and the Walking Dead collections didn't, I had to do entire chapter because of glitched trophies and achievements. Big reason I've passed on this so far. Unless there's a glitch, the lack of chapters don't matter if all the trophies are just to complete the game. It is a bit more frustrating if you have to complete an entire chapter again just for one missable item though. I have read in other posts that the episodes for The Expanse are relatively short compared to other instalments, so it might not be as much of an issue. If missables span over multiple chapters though, I might keep a guide on hand after all. I was going to get the game while it was on sale, but I think I will give it a pass for the moment and wait for another sale to come along. I've got a lot of other games in my library that need attention anyway.

Telltale is notoriously bad for things not popping when they should. I had to replay a Batman episode 3 times because the "part 5" of one chapter wouldn't pop. Happened on 2 platforms, and google tells me it's a common issue. I left a Walking Dead collection incomplete on Xbox because 2 "chapter" ach's wouldn't pop after playing through the chaper several times. Again, every time it was for things that should have popped just for playing.
