Sonic x Shadow Giveaway

 

I'm throwing another giveaway in celebration of the release of 'Sonic x Shadow Generations' this fall. I was planning on doing this as my third giveaway this year, but I moved it up.

 

There's a total of $100 PSN credit to win, and how the prize is distributed will be voted on by you. Also, if we reach 400 entries before Sonic x Shadows Generations is released, the prize will be upped to $200.

 

On to the rules.

 

1. Below you will find a selection of Sonic x Shadow avatars and signatures. You must pick one of each and make them your avatar and signature until the release of 'Sonic x Shadow Generations' this fall.

 

2. You must keep the avatar and signature for at least a month, in order for your entry to be valid. You can change them afterward, but there are benefits to keeping them for longer.

 

3. The names of everyone that successfully enters will be entered into a draw, and the winner or winners will be drawn randomly.

 

4. For each month you keep the avatar/signature combo, you gain an additional draw. That means if you keep the avatar/signature for two months, your name is entered twice, for three months, it's entered thrice, and so on. The longer you keep the avatar/signature, the greater your chance of winning.

 

5. You win a prize each time your name is drawn, assuming the poll decides on anything other than $100 to one winner.

 

6. Changing your avatar/signature to others from the selection is fine and will go towards your month count.

 

7. You are able to change your avatar/signature to something else, and still resume your month count at a later date.

 

For example, if you keep the Sonic x Shadow avatar/signature combo from May 1st to June 1st, then go back to your regular avatar/signature, but then on July 1st you start using a Sonic x Shadow combo once again till August 1st, that'll count as two months and your name will be added into the draw twice.

 

8. The deadline is one month before Sonic x Shadow Generations is released, whenever that is. 

 

9. I will try to buy a gift card that's the same region as whomever wins, but will be a US gift card if I'm not able to.

Then on account settings, go to signature, and copy/paste the image you want to use.

 

 

To change your avatar, go to your profile and click on your profile picture. Then upload the image you want to use.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the staff have talked about this one over the past days and it's ultimately going to be a no from us for this giveaway.

 

To the casual observer unfamiliar with the 4+ year history of drama between various members on the forum, this thread seems mostly harmless and fun. However, this isn't simply official Sonic promo art in anticipation for the game, it's obviously a highly specific Sonic fan art that is very likely going to elicit a response and more unneeded drama somewhere on the forums. We already have headache-inducing arguments and bickering in the status updates (sometimes every day), in forum threads, and so on. It's all very tedious and tiring to babysit and moderate all that mess on a sometimes daily basis. Let's please not also expand that to the giveaways area. If we keep this thread up, then we'll probably have to deal with the inevitable reaction/response giveaways such as "Straight Video Game Character Celebration Signature Giveaway" or the "Rank the Worst Games Dealing with [Controversial Topic] Giveaway". Yeah no thanks, we're just going to get ahead of it and pump the brakes on all of that now instead of a week or two from now when other similar giveaways would be made.

 

Anyways, a new rule has been added for giveaways: No giveaways can be made revolving around controversial or typically disagreeable societal, political, or related topics as these topics cause drama in the forums already. This includes asking people to change their profile picture or signature as part of the giveaway to align with or deride whatever topic or message you're trying to promote or ridicule at the time.

 

Again, sorry for the inconvenience, but another giveaway would have to be made in place of this one (if you decided to do that, it's up to you), particularly one that doesn't try to barely skirt around the rule above. Thanks.
