Transferring games to second PS4... calling all people who own 2 PS4s

I have preordered the Batman PS4 and I am wondering if I can use the backup and restore utility to move all my games and data over without having to re download anything?  It would be a hassle to redownload 400+ gigs of games, saves, apps and the like. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't needed to do this so I don't really know but it doesn't sound that it's likely you can, unless you maybe switched the hard drives which might defeat the purpose anyway.

Edit: Read you said about the new Batman PS4, I'd say switching hard drives would be your best bet.

I would love to know a better way myself as i am in the same boat but i think that you have to re download. I would do it overnight just before bed so that you don't have to experience the wait time.

Can't you just take the hard drive out and put it in your new ps4? 

You never mentioned anything about upgrading your hard drive, so maybe just swap them over instead?

On the PS3 at least each hard drive was linked to teh specific PS3 so swapping drives would format the hard drive. I can't say if thats the case for PS4, but I'd say its very likely the same thing would happen here, as security has been increased.

Not possible to exchange hard drives - it formats upon transfer.  This is a security measure Sony have in place to stop you downloading 400GB of games then selling it.

 

No other option but to send all saves into the cloud and redownload games (remember to deactivate old PS4 before wiping it).

 

Personally, I would keep the Batman PS4 boxed - I don't know know whether you're a collector but there's a good chance it will be worth a lot in a few years - especiall when Batman Vs Superman releases.
