PlayStation Plus Prices to be Increased In Europe and UK

Sony has confirmed that it’s increasing the price of PlayStation Plus subscriptions in mainland Europe and the UK. The price hike affects the one month and three month membership options.

Following a report from Push Square towards the end of last week, the publisher’s UK arm has today confirmed it in a new statement.

“We are dedicated to bringing PlayStation Plus members the best possible service with the most compelling content,” reads the statement. “From 1st September we will be increasing the price of monthly and three month PlayStation Plus subscriptions in line with market conditions. We will continue to invest in PlayStation Plus to ensure an unparalleled experience, featuring the best quality games and features.”

Sony has yet to confirm exact numbers for the different tiers in Europe, or in the UK. In addition, the company did not confirm if the subscribers in the US will also be affected.

Doesn't seem like that is a very good idea. The year subscription is the best deal anyway and it seems like that isn't being changed so if I were someone across the pond I'd be subscribing yearly.

I already subscribe yearly as it was always the best value for subscription. I have a feeling though this will either encourage more people to subscribe yearly or they will just cancel there subscription all together, only time will tell if this new move from Sony will work
