It seems StormBASIC are announcing new challenges with a very short notice. At the time of writing, I play this game every day and check the online challenge for a date once a day, and just earlier today I saw that there will be a new challenge starting 25th of September 2015 14:00 UTC and ending 4th of October same time. That's just 3 days notice, and the challenge itself is just 1 week. I believe it use to be 2 weeks. They no longer announce it on the activities screen of the live area, nor do they write anything on their website, so you have to open the game itself to check To be among the top 100 to get the gold you need to be prepared. Preferably you need to have progressed far enough in the game to have all other trophies. At the very least you need to have the bronze trophies and a few millions of ecopoints to spare. Spam the ecosystem with Aisanka and Jekerap/Zakec/Pukukac and whatever other animals to keep them somewhat fed. Ssuretli, Kichtka (or Malawu if you don't have/can get that) and Pdorus are also good thing that generate a lot of points. There will be a rush for those animals, especially Aisanka and Jekerap/Zakec/Pukukac, so they will probably not go for any less than a million ecopoints on the auction. Don't care too much about balancing the ecosystem, your goal is to get as much challenge points as possible, so you will ned to regularly enter the ecosystem to manually feed some of the animals to keep all animals alive and shipshape. If I remember correctly I think I had a challenge point gain rate of around 30 000 and I ended up on around place 40. There was a booster which gave like an 8x point bonus. I even missed like 3 days out of 14. The trophy will pop when you accept your awards after your points and placing have been verified a few days later. LiNSiCKeL Posted September 28, 2015 Share Posted September 28, 2015 Update. So far doing well in the challenge. I believe I was rank 19 before I left for work today and ~55000 points per hour. Hopefully I can stay up there till the end. Am I missing something obvious? You have to wait for your result to be verified. It will take a few days. Check back on the online challenge. When it's done you can receive your rewards, and you will also get the trophy. It seems you finished in 80'th place Strange you are not on my friend score list. I kinda got lucky, I only started on the second day and than I forgot all about it. I guess I kind of was prepared well enough. It is indeed strange, I can't see you on my friend score list either. DaivRules Posted October 6, 2015 Share Posted October 6, 2015 When I was playing, several of the challenges were only one week, but I was horribly unprepared and there were significantly more people playing, several would place in the top of every challenge every time, ruining the possibility of others obtaining the gold. Once I got the gold trophy, I stopped playing so others would have a chance. Follow @StormBASIC on Twitter. They tweet the day before or the day of the contest starts. Just waiting for mine also, should be ranked 17. I couldn't claim anything this morning, but it said waiting for scores until today, so I imagine we will get this sometime later today. Their servers have been fuzzy for some time now. Some weeks back I rarely got a ranking at all, the game could not connect to the servers. But it works for the most part now. It seems to be different servers that handle the ranking and the auctions. I've never had any significant problems with the auctions. When I was playing, several of the challenges were only one week, but I was horribly unprepared and there were significantly more people playing, several would place in the top of every challenge every time, ruining the possibility of others obtaining the gold. I was tempted to participate, but I left the field open for others instead (and pushed my own score ) There were a bunch of the usual suspects on the top 100 list, but it seemed far less people participated than before. Scores were generally very low I would say, so there was a good chance to get on the list. Their Twitter account seems to be abandoned. There is no post/tweet since December.
