Please support HTTPS

I see PSNProfiles already uses HTTPS during login, but then redirects back to HTTP.

Whether or not you want to change that, I don't know, but please at least optionally support (working) HTTPS on this domain:

  card.psnprofiles.com

That's the domain trophy cards are hosted from and are intended to be used on other sites and forums. If that other site wants to use HTTPS it is a problem if a user wants to hotlink to a HTTP resource like a trophy card as you get mixed content warnings in browsers. Which is the problem I'm having on my site.

card.psnprofiles.com is currently already loading through HTTPS but you get a certificate error as the subdomain isn't included in the certificate for psnprofiles.com

(Hint: letsencrypt.org is now in public beta, or if you don't want to use it, cheapsslsecurity.com or gogetssl.com)

Btw this script is being loaded (or rather: not loaded, as it will be blocked) through HTTP on your HTTPS login page, also causing a mixed content warning:

http://cdn.intergi.com/utils/tyche.js

...you might want to fix that.

You sound like you know what you're talking about, so uh...

What the fudgcicles is the difference between the two?

There's http this, https that, all I know of https:// is I'd use it years ago to get past my school's internet blocker because they were idiots, there's html 5 but that's something else and then there's normal html. I like the thing that lets me watch videos and type to people and stuff. #TechWhiz #UsingHashtagsToShowHowTotallyHipIAm #AccidentallyPuttingAFullStopAtTheEndOfYourHashtag #OkayItsNotFunnyAnymoreIllGo

Short non-technical answer, HTTPS is more secure. I believe the changes are in the way your computer and the webpage communicate with each other. If you do online banking or purchasing, you will notice those pages are always HTTPS. But it can be used for any webpage.

Basically HTTPS encrypts all the data that is being sent between the webserver and the browser of a user

Both nice, short, and concise answers. I've been aware of the S's presence for a long while, but never understood it's significance. PSNP teaches you something every day.

Sly reads this forum, that's why it exists.

That's what I thought. Somewhat of a good thing then I didn't have time to respond until now.

There is one more advantage: HTTP/2 (which only works through HTTPS). Simply explained HTTP/2 is faster than plain old HTTP 1.1 (what most web pages are using). It allows multiple requests over one connection concurrently, header compression, server push, etc.

Upcoming site update will support https everywhere. I know about the external script, I told them to enable https about a week ago.

Thanks for your reply, glad to know you are working on it and that it's coming.

And ugh yeah that script won't even load over HTTPS.
