Classics of the Future

- Heavy Rain

- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

- Shadows of the Damned

- Lollipop Chainsaw

- Bioshock

- Bioshock 2

- Bioshock Infinite

- Dead Space

- Dead Space 2

- Silent Hill: Downpour

That's how I feel. Some of the games I listed like Shadows, Lollipop and Downpour I think are just unappreciated gems that people don't know about.

-Portal 1 and 2

-Skyrim

-Mass Effect 1,2 and 3

These are just a few games that I think people will consider classics. My own list is slightly different:

-Portal 1 and 2

-Mass Effect 1,2 and 3

-Silent Hill: Downpour

-Deus Ex: Human Revolution

-Nier

-Fallout 3 and New Vegas

-Yakuza 3 and 4

-Gundam Extreme Vs.

That is all I can think of right now.

I have only played Nier out of the list, but only partially. From what I gathered it is a great game.

I guess I should put my list since I started the thread, huh?

Well, out of the games I have played since the release of PS3 I would have to say these may become classics;

Dragon Age: Origins

inFamous (Series)

Uncharted (Series)

Heavy Rain

Prototype (Series)

Assassin's Creed (Series)

Batman: Arkham Asylum (I did not think City was as great)

Brink (Yes, I rather enjoyed that game)

That's about all I can name for now, I don't own a lot of PS3 games..

What modern day or recent (past 5 years) games do you think will become future classics?

What a great question! I think the future classics will be demon and dark souls, Uncharted Series, and LittleBig Planet 1 & 2. I'm sure I missed a bunch of them but those are the ones on the top of my head

I could see that, and Demon souls, which could be to kids now what Super Ghouls N Ghosts was to me.

Now that my collection has grown significantly, i shall post a new list!

Alice: Madness Returns - Felt like i was on hallucinogens the entire time.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood - Best of the series, from the titles i have played.

Batman: Arkham Asylum - I feel as if it changed the way the combat system is implemented into a superhero game.

Borderlands (1 & 2) - Completely different from any shooter I have ever played.

Far Cry 3 - Voice acting, story, free roam, relatable characters.. what's not to like?

Heavy Rain - Very unique Playstation exclusive and the first of it's kind, that i played anyway..

L.A.I.R. - One of the first games I played on the Playstation 3 that required you to use the Sixaxis to control your Dragon, instead of joysticks.

Little Big Planet - This put a whole new look on creativity.

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch - One of the best RPG's I have played in the past generation, but still below Chrono Cross.

Red Dead Redemption - This tops the charts as one of the best, if not the best, Western TPS to date.

Uncharted (series) - Like most Naughty Dog games, this series needs no explanation.

Honorable Mentions

Brink - Creative, unique, till TF2 came along.

Bulletstorm - Different from most modern shooters.

Dead Space (series) - The original Dead Space may still have a chance but 2 and 3 lost it's horror feeling.

Dragon Age (series) - Origins still has a possibility but 2 dropped the series all together. *waiting on Inquisition*

Mass Effect (series) - Another EA series that go progressively worse..

Sleeping Dogs - Great combat, decent story, but the game felt "flimsy".
