Popular Post gernboes
Hey there! After a long time of consideration if and how to do it, I finally decided to hop on the bandwagon and do one of those fancy trophy/games lists. First, a little introduction. I started gaming at about 8 or 9 years old, so that's now a little over 25 years ago (oh my god, a quarter-century of gaming!!!). I started on an NES, had a Gameboy and a SNES, then at about 14 - that would have been around 1996 - I got my first PC, a 486 DX2 with a whopping 4MB of RAM and maybe 6Mhz - those numbers might be a little off, I'm working off my memories here... I was a pretty hardcore PC gamer for about 10 years, including writing my own boot discs in the old DOS days, and later, when the internet started to get a big (and fast) thing, pirating more games than anybody could reasonably play. I did play on PS1 and 2 at a friend of mine, and at one point I bought a PS2, but the PC kept being my main gaming platform right until 2006. In 2006 the PS3 launched of course, and I got myself a nice phatty with backwards compatibility - which I used with maybe three games or so, at the beginning when I didn't have many PS3 games. And at that point, I started gaming almost exclusively on console - playing comfortably on the couch with a controller (steam big picture wasn't a thing back then), not having to keep up with hardware upgrades and min-maxing graphics settings, all that "casual" stuff just won me over. I do have a steam account with 134 games, but my only pc these days is a laptop which doesn't see a lot of gaming. Over the time I got myself a PSPgo which isn't in use anymore, a launch VITA and a launch PS4. I'm not a hardcore trophy hunter, which means I will not go for ultra-hard trophies, I will skip most multiplayer trophies in games I mainly play for the story, and I won't do 69 playthroughs of a game just for a trophy. I will go a little bit out of my way if I really love a game or do a little bit of grinding if I'm only missing one trophy for the plat, but nothing too ridiculous, most times I'm ok with just completing the story of a game. I am helpless when it comes to buying games in the many many deals we get in the store these days though, which, combined with the PS+ games, results in a huge backlog, which gets us to the next topic. Goals My goals are pretty straightforward. Complete as many games from my backlog as possible, in most cases just to completion. Get those platinums I'm interested in and willing to get, and just in general boost my completion rate a little bit. My starting completion rate as of 06.07.2017 is 30,91% at 514 played games. which means if I add a game and complete it to 100% it will raise my completion rate by about 0,13%. My long term goal would be to raise my completion rate above 33%, which is only a raise by 2,09%, but at a maximum raise of 0,13%, it will take at least 16 games at 100% completion. My wall of games Ok, let's talk about the main attraction here. I plan to do a visual representation of my platinums my completed games my backlog In that order, both in terms of layout and priority, which means the backlog section will be the last and the least important bit. Having a few hundred games on my backlog, this section will probably never be complete! (or started...) gernboes
Completed Bedlam yesterday. Not a very Good game, i know its supposed to be a retro parody or something, and i dont care about the dated graphics, but the gameplay mechanics. Boring gameplay and loads of jumping around on floating platforms... I did end up with all but one trophy after my first playthrough, so i got that one too and have it now at 100%, never to be played again!
gernboes
Finally got the Platinum, the Far, Far away Trophy trolled me hard, and i ended up grinding it with the rubber band method after getting over 80km on one set of wheels...

Cant wait for the next thing by Ninja Theory and hope it doesnt take as long as this one

gernboes
I FINALLY(!) got through Mass Effect for the first time! Played it for an event and going to post a few things there, so if you want, go there:
gernboes
Completed and platted Get Even. Was pretty quick and easy, just a few annoying collectibles. The game has a quite interesting story, gameplaywise nothing too innovative, except maybe the use of a (very minor mechanics-spoiler!) Spoiler "cornergun"

Always considered doing a wall of trophies, just might have to sometime, and the list is coming along nicely! ? gernboes
Completed game #155 With Platinum #67 This one was a bit of a surprise for me. I was interested in it when i first saw it on steam and got excited when i heard it was coming to the PS4, but i never anticipated how obsessed i would get with it! I played hours on end and just couldn't stop sometimes... What game is this at all? Well, you're just trying to transport logs to a lumber mill, that's it. You have a number of unlockable Trucks to use and you're doing it in rather tricky environments. The main theme of the game is mud. The Offroad driving physics are really good and you'll have to navigate through bogs, up and down mountains, cross rivers and so on. Really not for everyone, but if its your cup of tea, i can really recommend it. Also the Platinum isnt too hard. There are a few online trophies, but you only need one other player, and if you're going for the trophies specifically, it shouldn't take more than an hour or two. Cassylvania
Hi @gernboes! I like your list. Are your "Completed Games" officially done with, or might you still go back to some of them? Also, I'm curious how you got the game images you use. When I try to do the same thing, I get a white background for some games, and I can't get the borders to line up nicely, like you did. I consider a game completed when i at least have completed one playthrough, i.e. finished the story, campaign, career or whatever the main single player component is. There are exceptions to this of course, when games have a "true ending" requiring multiple playthroughs, i will in most cases consider the game complete only when i reach the true ending, except maybe when the game wasnt good enough for me to warrant multiple playthroughs; multiplayer only games i consider "completed" when i get the platinum, even if im continuing playing it. Most games im done with once i have completed them, there are just a few games i want to play the story more then once, especially considering my massive backlog! But there are also a few games i consider going back to and getting the platinum or simply a few more trophies. And for the images, in the original png files, the background is transparent, so will be displayed as white in most cases, these images i download, save them with the background color set to the right colour, save them as jpg and upload to my imgur account. Then i can link them from there. The lining up is easy when all images are the same size, just no spaces, text or whatever, nothing but the images and they line up just by themselves.
