1. There was a dragon ball z rpg on SNES. It didn’t get released in the west but I remember playing a translated rom of it when I was a kid. Believe this is it:

2. Not sure if you guys count this because I guess technically the anime is based off the video game, but I have to mention Pokémon, so I’ll go with gold.
 

I was a huge fan of red and blue when it came out, everyone at school was going nuts playing it and trading the Pokémon and stuff, the hype was unlike anything these days.
 

When gold and silver began being talked about, long before they came out, I was so excited I managed to find and played the Japanese rom ages before it released in North America. I actually managed to almost finish the game despite not understanding any of the text.

3. Also have to shout out this game, not because I really liked the game, just because I liked the anime and wish we could get more games based on it.
