Obvious cheating with forged timestamps?

Recommended Posts

I've been noticing this lately:

https://psnprofiles.com/trophy/821-Hard-Corps-Uprising/12-Ill-make-them-pay%80%A6

Some people have Timestamps that stretch the trophy earning rate to 5 years and a month or so which are clearly mangled with because the game wasn't released 5 years ago. It's also fairly obvious that playing a 2011 game on 2009 is a big red flag for potential cheating.

It could be cheating, or they could be playing with the date on their PS3 or Vita set deliberately to a date in the past, so that when they earn a trophy they show up as number 1 on the list of First Achievers. I don't know why you would want to do that, but it is an explanation.

If the ps3 user has an account which is signed up with psn, all trophy dates automatically have the online server time of Sony.

If the ps3 user doesn't have an account signed up with psn, all trophy dates automatically are missing.

You simply can't pick any date and then unlock the trophy to get that timestamp on the trophy.

So the way such a trophydate does occur is whenever the user uses some sort of app on a custom firmware ps3 to generate random timestamps, or the user edit's the dates himself with a jailbroken ps3.

Both of those would only be used if the player is a cheater to begin with.

Using the forum search funtion would greatly help those  new users. Every time I go to make a new thread, ESPECIALLY IN THIS FORUM, I make sure to use the search function. I wish everyone had the mental thought to do this.

Whereas I understand the want to keep the forum tidy and keep everything in one topic, many other forums complain if people resurrect old threads.

This is actually the only forum I've been on that prefers to bring up old threads than start new ones, it takes some getting used to.

Except by using the search function to search for this particular information there will never be a need to resurrect old threads. The understanding will be plainly explained; ask a premium member to report, buy premium for yourself and report. There's no need to bring up old threads if old threads have the same information that the new thread's asking for.
