A couple of questions

In regards to fire/ice weaknesses, after say, igniting a machine with a fire arrow, do I need to keep using the fire arrows for the fire kill to work? Or are they only used to set a machine on fire before I should switch to my normal arrows?

 

And merchants. Do they not sell these maps until later on? Aloy was just made a Seeker in my story, so I'm not sure if they're supposed to see these maps now, or a bit later on.

Maps are at varied sellers. One is hunter gathering.

 

I dont remember on the arrows. I feel if a piece of armor breaks from fire then you would need to again. But not 100% on this

For fire kills keep using the fire arrows. 

For the maps, you can get them right before leaving the village with a merchant just before the gate.

I think they need to die from burning. Just keep using the fire arrows until they are destroyed and chances are you will get the kill. Will come naturally.

 

As for the maps, they will be under special items, but I think not all merchants had them.
