As of February 6th, 2022, this platinum is still possible as the servers are still online. If I ever need to make any adjustments to the guide, I'll post them here as well as in the guide comments.

11/05/2021 - Guide Patch Notes: 1.1:

 

• Stage 2 section: 
  • It was further elucidated what the "online download" on the PS3 PSN store does for the game. The guide incorrectly inferred that the download was needed to play online co-op. The pack is needed for ALL multiplayer aspects of the game. 
  • The multiplayer download that is required was listed as the "Multiplayer Compatibility Pack" per its title on the PS3 PSN Store. 
• "Architect" Trophy Section: 
  • Typo discovered. Was corrected.

 

02/06/2022 - Guide Patch Notes: 1.2:

 

• Removed information regarding an author not having earned the platinum due to pursuing another project.
  • The aforementioned author has earned the platinum for Armored Core: Verdict Day. 
• Story Master requirements were adjusted thanks to new information. 
  • With the help from @Destructor-8, it was discovered that 5-3 is possible to S Rank in co-op under very specific conditions.

I know this is quite late, but I can confirm that you CAN get the Player Rank S trophy from Hardcore mode, as I just did it (it won't be updated until I update my trophies, though). I can post picture proof if you like.

 

I used The Poor Man modifiers for the 10x player rank points and reached S rank on completing Mission 3-0, very easily walked through the majority of missions as a tank with dual autocannons, only swapping to a tetra with sniper cannons for one of the AC fights.

If it wasnt expensive to get a copy i would gladly try getting this plat. Dont know if the game was removed from the ps store

It wasn't. It's still available.

We got some unfortunate news that the online servers for Verdict Day are shutting down on March 31st, 2024. Online trophies will be unobtainable after the shutdown

Only $20 on the PSN store. Also I swear that having this downloaded onto an SSD makes it load noticeably faster than videos I've seen. A lot of games the difference is pretty negligible. 

 

Speaking of PSN store, having the DLC for the premade and customizable UNACs is pretty nice. Just get the bundles. It's not necessary since you can also co-op, but I charged through the campaign by myself and it made it very smooth until I could get a lot of better gear. Most missions I ran with one of the sniper premade guys. Only the very final boss fight mission I did totally solo.
