Difficulty compared to the (2020) Remake?

Just 100%'d the Remake on PC, and was wondering what completing this Port is like compared to it? While it does require Collecting all Probes & the missable trophy, are the controls incredibly outdated? Do the additions to the Remake (optional objectives, different challenges, etc) make this one easier or harder?

In terms of difficulty and time to Plat, the remake is longer and more difficult/irritating IMO, because of all the extra annoying challenges they shoehorned in. Whereas the only truly annoying thing in the original, is having to fight the stability problems and atrocious draw distance whilst trying to find all the Probes so a Guide is strongly recommended, else you will waste hours tearing your hair out trying to find the bloody things. The default controls are about the same in both of them, though the Original has some fiddly to activate functions tied to the Touchpad due to it being a PS2 on PS4 port.

The original is FAR easier to Plat. Some of the challenges in the remake are an absolute nightmare. I still haven't Platted the remake and haven't played it since late last year because some of the challenges make me want to pull my hair out, and it's the last trophy I need for the Plat. But they aren't fun at all, so I just don't want to bother.
