If you were told Genshin Impact was resetting everyone's account but they allowed you to keep 12 characters of your choice what would they be.

The conditions are:

• Anything these characters were equipped with would carry over ie. Weapon, Artifacts and in certain cases Outfits.
• 10 of the Characters can be either ones you own or are upcoming releases (ie. Nahida, Dehya and Alhaitham fall under this) or Characters you just don't have.
• and the final 2 have to be Named characters who have a good chance of becoming playable (ie Varka and the Fatui Harbingers fall under this)

My Choices are:

1. Ganyu - Cryo - Bow
2. Kokomi - Hydro - Catalyst
3. Kazuha - Anemo - Sword
4. Raiden Shogun - Electro - Polearm
5. Kamisato Ayaka - Cryo - Sword
6. Zhongli - Geo - Polearm
7. Dehya - Pyro - Claymore
8. Nahida - Dendro - Catalyst

9. Yelan - Hydro - Bow

10. Hu Tao - Pyro - Polearm
11. Varka - ? - ?
12. Arlecchino - ? - ?

 

For me numbers 1 to 4 are my go to team for most things though both Kokomi and Kazuha will sometimes get switched out when necessary, funnily enough i can count on all 4 to do good numbers when it comes to Damage.

I said 12 because Spiral Abyss requires at least 8 and the extra 4 were just as backup

I dont need 12 tbh, I only need Raiden, Kokomi, Xianling and Nahida.
For Spiral Abyss I'd keep Bennet and Hu Tao and Xinqiu and maybe Sucrose

When it resets in this scenario, I'm assuming you'd re-get the free to play characters, no? So Xiangling, Collei, Lisa, etc. That's why I won't list them.

If I had to only choose 4...

 

1. Raiden - Electro. SubDPS/DPS. Too useful in meta.
2. Yelan - Hydro. One of the best subDPS. Meta. Great QoL for travelling, more if she's C1 (in my case, C4)
3. Nahida - Dendro. Great for dendro reactions. QoL for collecting things in overworld.
4. any healer (see 8, 12, or even Kuki Shinobu in this team)

...and another 4...

 

5. Hu Tao - Pyro. Great DPS.

6. Xingqiu - Hydro. Mini Yelan and OG, with slight defensive skills.

7. Kazuha - Anemo. Meta, goes well in too many parties, great QoL for travelling.

8. Bennett - Pyro. A 4* that is much better than many 5*...

 

...and 4 more, to end?

 

9. Ganyu/Ayaka - Ayaka is better, but personally I like Ganyu more, subjectively.

10. Shenhe - great for ayaka/ganyu.

11. Venti - goes full BRRRR with the previous ones, and...

12. Kokomi - completing the permafreeze team.
