Wade_VC
While it is interesting to note that Battlefield 3 is not actually legally available in Iran, the country has seen fit to ensure that the vulnerable youths of the country do not get their hands on the game, notably pirated copies. It has been reported that members of the ruling Combatant Clergy Association are cracking down on street vendors who are selling the game. According to a report from The Fars news agency, well over 5,000 Iranian ‘youths’ have signed a petition to stop the sale of Battlefield 3, claiming that it does nothing but harm the image of Iran “at a time when the US is pushing the international community into fearing Iran.” Regardless of the political problems surrounding BF3 and Iran, EA has commented on the situation in a rather handy way. The company, surprised by a ban in a country that is not able to sell the game in the first place, is only working to help the company it turns out. "In that Battlefield 3 is not available for purchase in Iran, we can only hope the ban will help prevent pirated copies reaching consumers there," the company said. ille1234
Not entirely unexpected. Virtually the whole campaign transpires within that area and you kill quite a few of their soldiers. I guess the ban is justified

Wade_VC
Yeah, we would hate to hurt the feelings of a culture that still stones people to death, wouldn't we.
