Anime Games w/ Trophy Support on PlayStation (NA/Global)

I've done my best to scrape together a comprehensive list of licensed anime games that affects me as a NA trophy hunter that I felt would be helpful to share with the community at large. Please leave suggestions to help improve and build on this topic.

A few general rules:

1.) This topic has been divided into two lists. The first list covers the more conventional "anime" games that started off as an anime (i.e. Gundam), manga (i.e. Naruto), and manhwa (i.e. Solo Leveling). The second list covers what I'll call the "novel anime games" and accounts for games that came from anime that were derived from light novels (i.e. Sword Art Online) and visual novels (i.e. Fate). Each list is alphabetized by series name, and chronologically by the earliest trophy-supported version launch of each title.

2.) These games and their trophies must be accessible to a standard English speaker and have, at minimum, English subtitles and/or dubs.

3.) These games must have either a NA or global trophy stack. There may be exceptions for anime games that are available physically, have English subtitles, and English trophy names and descriptions (i.e. Gintama Rumble).

4. Each game is accompanied by a sub-bullet with difficulty, estimated time to complete, and # of online trophies (not including co-op or solo optional, and not including the plat). These numbers are pulled from top search results from trophy hunting guides/forums and reflect their respective communities' opinions (or the most prevailing opinion I am able to find) rather than my own, so feel free to comment if your experiences differ, but I likely won't be adjusting these unless a consensus is impossible to find or unless an update significantly impacts the difficulty or anticipated completion time. Online trophies will be bolded whenever the number is greater than 0.

5. Upcoming games have been incorporated into the list and are in green font. Games that are now impossible to 100% due either to server shut-downs or a digital-only delisting are in red font.

Hopefully, this topic will make it easier for anyone with a soft spot for anime games to properly plan out what they want to tackle next. Please comment if I missed any games with a NA/global trophy stack that fit these categories of "anime games".

(Last updated: 5/16/24) Updated to include Solo Leveling game and incorporate games inspired by manhwa into the first list of "anime games".)

really nice list but why would Steins;Gate get a pass and not the others like it? What makes it so special? It's in the exact same situation as Persona and Danganronpa

also there's Doraemon Story of Seasons on PS4, Doreamon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdon on PS5, and a Macross(Robotech) game announced for PS4/PS5 that's getting a Western release early next year

Thanks for the kind words and suggestions! I'd never even heard of Doraemon until now. Might have to add a section for upcoming games as well since I'm aware of quite a few.

I'll be honest, Steins;Gate is a bit of a reach on my part since I knew about and watched the anime before the games (and I know that's the case for a good number of people I know IRL). It feels "different" but that's absolutely just my bias showing, and I'd prefer to stick to some hard rules. I'll probably remove it in the near future if I can't think of a good enough justification to keep it. Or perhaps make an exception for anime that were inspired by VNs? I don't know, what do you think would be most helpful to see on a list like this?

Record of Lodoss War

it is technically a sequel to the OAV series not sure if it counts though.

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll have to think on this one. From what I can tell, the game seems to be primarily inspired by the anime and manga adaptations, so I'm leaning toward adding it.

Great list I've been tired of using Wikipedia list to try and keep track.  Not sure if you want to do a coming soon section but I believe Jujutsu Kaisen is getting a game in the near future.

Yup, planning to add an "upcoming games" section to this as well! JJK, Spy x Family, Sand Land, Naruto Connections, and Bleach (maybe? not sure if confirmed for consoles) are all on my radar.

There are several Yu-Gi-Oh games on PS3, PS4 and PS5 :)

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Decade Duels Plus (PS3)

Yu-Gi-Oh! Millennium Duels (PS3)
Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist (PS4)
Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution (PS4)
Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel (PS4 & PS5)

I'm actually genuinely upset with myself that I completely forgot about the Yu-Gi-Oh! games. Thanks for calling out - will add shortly!

Are you not counting the 3 Dynasty Warriors Gundam games?

My knowledge on the Gundam games is super limited - in this case, I didn't include them because I feel like that would fall more under the category of Dynasty Warriors games than Gundam games. Correct me if I'm wrong though and I'll add them!

I'd personally include them cause while they do play like Dynasty Warriors titles, they do have all Gundam characters/mechs as well as stories revolving around them. The only Dynasty Warriors part about them is the gameplay.

After a quick look through the "anime" section in the PS store I found a few more anime games:

Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness (PS4)
Spice and Wolf VR1 & Spice and Wolf VR2 (PS4VR)
Laid-Back Camp: Virtual - Lake Motosu & Laid-Back Camp: Virtual: Fumoto Campsite (PS4)
Re:ZERO - Starting Life in another World - The Prophecy of the Throne (PS4)
Arslan: The Warriors of Legend (PS4)
Punch Line (PS4&PSVITA)

Since you added Fate games to your list (and all of the following games started as visual novels or games and have gotten an anime later as well), you might want to consider adding:

Clannad (PS4)

Hakuoki: Story of the Shinsengumi (PS3)
Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds (PSVITA)
Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms (PSVITA)

Corpse Party (PS4)
Corpse Party: Blood Drive (PSVITA)

Robotic; Notes Elite (PS4)
Chaos;Child (PS4&PSVITA)
Robotic; Notes DaSH (PS4)

Utawarerumono: ZAN (PS4)
Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten (PS4&PS5)
Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen (PS4&PSVITA)
Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception (PS4&PSVITA)
Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth (PS4&PSVITA)

Laid Back Camp has 2 english available games with trophies. No plat for either, but you just mentioned trophy support, so I guess they would count?

Never heard of this series either! No plat is perfectly fine - there are already a few games on the list that only have the 100% (i.e. JoJo HD and My Hero Ultra Rumble) so I'll absolutely add them!

After a quick look through the "anime" section in the PS store I found a few more anime games:

Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness (PS4)
Spice and Wolf VR1 & Spice and Wolf VR2 (PS4VR)
Laid-Back Camp: Virtual - Lake Motosu & Laid-Back Camp: Virtual: Fumoto Campsite (PS4)
Re:ZERO - Starting Life in another World - The Prophecy of the Throne (PS4)
Arslan: The Warriors of Legend (PS4)
Punch Line (PS4&PSVITA)

Since you added Fate games to your list (and all of the following games started as visual novels or games and have gotten an anime later as well), you might want to consider adding:

Clannad (PS4)

Hakuoki: Story of the Shinsengumi (PS3)
Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds (PSVITA)
Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms (PSVITA)

Corpse Party (PS4)
Corpse Party: Blood Drive (PSVITA)

Robotic; Notes Elite (PS4)
Chaos;Child (PS4&PSVITA)
Robotic; Notes DaSH (PS4)

Utawarerumono: ZAN (PS4)
Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten (PS4&PS5)
Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen (PS4&PSVITA)
Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception (PS4&PSVITA)
Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth (PS4&PSVITA)

Didn't realize the Fate series started off as VNs either (though Steins;Gate also has that problem). Been trying to figure out what to do with this category of "anime game". I don't want to overinflate the list with [every game > anime adaptation] when it's meant to be a list of [anime > game], but VNs definitely feel like they're more deserving of inclusion than something else like [JRPG > anime adaptation]. Will definitely think on this too...

I've played all the Steins gate games except darling, psycho pass, hakuouki and dragon ball kakarot. I don't watch anime anymore, although I used to as a teen and played a lot of anime based games on the gameboy and DS, like Vampire knight, most of the Yugioh games, this sailor moon fighting game and obviously pokemon series.

I am interested Fate, as but for VNs it's been mostly otome games for me these days

I don`t know, if it counts as a global trophy stack, but Full Metal Panic! Fight! Who Dares Wins (PS4) has a trophy stack with no specific region besides one JP and one AS stack and english subtitles and Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match (PS4) has only one trophy list for all regions and english subtitles.

Edit:

Just read the post that mentioned a Upcoming Games section. It looks like PQube releases the KonoSuba! Gods Blessing on this Wonderful World! Love For These Clothes of Desire! Visual Novel on Febuary 2nd. 24 for PS4 and Switch. Found this on the website of the german retailer Netgames, so I gues this is the EU release date.

Edit 2:

I forgot to mention Miss Kobayashi`s Dragon Maid: Burst Forth!! Choro-gon*Breath (PS4) , which has a global trophy list stack, besides a JP and AS one.
