A nemesis is a monster that invades your game if you're in an area and difficulty where one of your friends has died. (most notably happens on torment + difficulties) Was in before TLOU update. It drops same as all rare elites do- equipment, plans, gems, legendaries, mats. The PC version is part of Blizz's battle.net system so it does have a friends list, which is why it's kind of weird to have it as a console only feature.
