This week at Bungie we’re prepping the November Update, set to arrive next week.

We’ve already alluded to the fact that this update will include some welcome additions to the Gunsmith, with Banshee-44 selling Weapon Parts in exchange for Glimmer. We also already promised someimprovements to the quality of your Crucible lifestyle. The November Update will also contain good news for Hunters who draw from the Void with a fix that re-enables the Quiver perk. Nightstalkers will now be able to shoot three Shadowshots again, without the added “bonus” that previously took the rest of us to infinity and beyond.

Something we haven’t yet mentioned is that Shaxx is going to have a few new items for sale, as well. After next week’s update, once you’ve completed the “Blademaster” Quest to obtain your Exotic sword, you’ll be able to purchase all three Legendary swords directly from Lord Shaxx.

After this update is deployed, some of the more tech savvy among you will be able to dig up some details for a new initiative we have planned to arrive just in time for the holiday season. We’re planning something new to recognize and reward the Sherpas among you. We are calling it Refer-a-Friend.
Maybe you have a friend who will be getting Destiny as a gift this season. Perhaps their gift-giver will even be picking it up for them at a holiday sale coming to a store near you. If you intend to show them the way to the mountaintop, we’ll have new rewards aimed at recognizing your service to the Kinderguardian.

Right now, we’re putting the finishing touches on the program. We’ll unpack the full and final details very soon.

Raise Your Banners

Next week, assuming everything goes well with the update, Iron Banner will return. For the first time ever it will feature Clash as the game mode. No need to control the zones, simply find your enemies, and eliminate them. To better explain our goals for the next Iron Banner, here’s Senior Designer Derek Carroll.

Derek: The most obvious change for Iron Banner this time around will be the switch to Clash.  I’d expect to see a bit less Super ability usage, and a lot more shooting across the board, but good teams will work together and hold territory even without the scoring incentives that Control provided.  This will be the first time we’ve played Clash with power differences enabled, so it will be interesting to see how power affects this most basic of 6v6 gametypes.

A less overt, but no less important change is an overhaul of the rewards for this event:

Iron Banner reputation from winning matches increased by 20%
Activity completion rewards increased at all ranks, with even more significant increases at Rank 2 and above
Packages from Lord Saladin upon reaching Rank 3 and Rank 5
Iron Banner Artifacts can be obtained from the Rank 3 package
Iron Banner Ghost Shells can be obtained from the Rank 5 package or activity completion rewards

Lord Saladin understands that the best Guardians deserve rewards equal to the challenge they face. He looks forward to watching new heroes emerge from this incarnation of the Iron Banner.

Gear is Under New Management

Earlier this week, your technological wingman was infused with new features. Yesterday, the Dev team released a Companion update that included some improvements for Bungie.net. You can go read theirPatch notes to get the full details.

If you use the tools we have created on Bungie.net, you may have noticed our new Gear Manager added to your account. We’ve been allowing more and more players have access to keep from overloading it in its infancy. In yesterday’s patch, the Companion team made the Gear Manager live for experimentation by all players. It’s still in Beta, but test it out and give us some feedback.

Go take it for a spin, move some gear around, play with the filters. There is a new Maximize Light feature that will automagically equip all of your highest Light gear, regardless of where it is located. It already has a lot of cool features, and this isn’t even its final form. The B.net team will continue to work on it as it transitions out of Beta, and then we’ll do a full write up.

Is this an issue?

There is an issue with this? First time i hear about it, hopefully it gets fixed soon.

It's most noticeable with hand cannons, but I've had trouble across the board. I've run totally out of ammo on multiple occasions and I usually use a hmg, sniper and a pulse rifle with armor that grants extra ammo capacity.

Maybe it's not affecting everyone since I've only seen a few people complaining about it besides me.

Anything on fixing ammo drop rates?

If you mean in PvE, no, they nerfed ammo drops to make the game more "challenging". That being said, the only time I've ever run out of Primary Ammo is with a Hand Cannon while not even trying to aim.

If they want to see less Supers, just disable them completely in the Iron Banner.

Link? Cause searching for ammo and waiting on synth during a fight makes it more challenging? More frustrating is more like it.

I am not a fan of the Destiny PVP anymore due to lag issues, poor connections and what appears to be out right cheaters. I am frustrated to watch people survive encounters that I cannot. People moving faster than the bullets that are speeding towards them and such. Otherwise I really like the direction that Bungie is taking Destiny in year two. I have definitely been spending more time in their world now.

This is the first I've heard of nerfing the drop rates. I guess for me I just adjusted by making sure to look for ammo drops as I'm killing adds. Pre-TTK you seemed to naturally collect ammo as necessary, but I've had to be a bit more conscious about it especially with how much sniper ammo you use in KF. I never feel like I'm burning a bunch of synths though like I was in Crota's End before the heavy ammo glitch was widely known.

It's not that I'm not looking for ammo or that I'm wasting all of it from missing what I'm aiming at. It's that it sometimes doesn't drop for very long periods of time. I make a conscious effort to pick up all ammo whenever I see it and I still run out.
